The Bridge: Renewed for Season 2!
Matt Richenthal at .FX confirmed today that viewers will be permitted to cross The Bridge once again next summer:
It has picked up this unique drama for a second season.
Said Eric Schrier, President of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions, in making the announcement:
“We’ve been blown away by the compelling performances of Demian Bichir and Diane Kruger and the writing of Meredith Stiehm, Elwood Reid and their team, and are thrilled to be able to continue this journey for another season. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Rich Ross, Carolyn Bernstein and everyone at Shine America.”
The Bridge stars Kruger and Belchir as detectives from both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border.
It ranked as the number-one new scripted cable series of the summer among 18-49-year olds and has been met with mixed reviews: Everyone loves the performance of the leads and the show's gritty setting, but some have been turned off by the wayward serial killer arc.
The Bridge Season 1 comes to an end tomorrow night.
