TV Ratings Report: Dads Delivers, Brooklyn Nine-Nine Debuts Strong

by at . Comments

Fox aired two sitcom premieres last night - one critically beloved, the other critically lambasted - along with two sitcom returns.

So, how did Dads, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, New Girl and The Mindy Project fare?

Dads Cast Pic
  • Despite (or perhaps due to) some of the worst reviews in the history of television, Dads opened to a 2.1 in the young adult demographic, a 40 percent surge over Raising Hope in that same time slot a year ago.
  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine also premiered strong, pulling a 2.5, which represented a 19 percent increase from last September's Ben and Kate's pilot.
  • New Girl Season 3 saw a 38 percent boost from its May finale and scored a 2.9.
  • The Mindy Project Season 2 hit a 1.9, good for a 46 percent gain from its finale.

NCIS Earns Award as Most Watched Program in the Universe

NCIS is officially the most-watched show in the world. It actually won an award for it this week.

Dads was not that bad. It is pretty funny. Just give the show a chance. Its only the first episode.

@MattRichenthal - I sincerely hope so. Glad you guys aren't wasting your time on it - what a terrible show. Next week it's up against the premieres of S.H.I.E.L.D, NCIS (where Cote de Pablo leaves), AND The Voice. Doesn't stand a chance. Although that's unfortunate for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which I really enjoyed.

No one reviewing Dads because it was awful. One bad racist joke after another. Hey Fox over using a laugh track doesn't make a show funny. I bet this will be the first show that gets axed by Fox. It should go down in the ratings next week and go off the air when Agents of Shield comes on. I know I will be watching that instead of this mess again!

Dads was horrible. Brenda Song as a Japanese schoolgirl was funny and cute (on the plus side - as on the downside I'm sure it was insulting and sexist). Her getting the deal done because of it was redeeming (for the downside)!

Dads was pretty funny no ?

@joyeful: You are correct. Look for the ratings to fall below NBC's in two weeks.

LOL - I guess no one's at TV Fanatic is reviewing Dads?
