The Originals gave pretty much everyone a reason to hate Klaus.

Elijah was left with a hybrid bite and memories of an earlier time in which his brother had been responsible for his girlfriend's death.

Cami was once again compelled by her angry acquaintance, while Rebekah was taunted with another daggering and Marcel was faced with the fact that he simply cannot defeat his friend-turned foe.

So how did it all end? Why did Klaus both accomplish his one grand goal and yet conclude the hour with a sense of disappointment? And what did Hayley learn about her family?
