NBC Stops Production on Sean Saves the World

by at . Comments

NBC has essentially canceled Sean Saves the World.

The network announced yesterday that he has stopped production on the four, four episodes short of its 18-installment first season order.

It will burn off two unaired, completed episodes at some point after the Winter Olympics and then that will be it for the Sean Hayes vehicle.

NBC moved the show to 9:30/8:30c last Thursday, but that didn't make a difference: it fell to 2.6 million viewers and an 0.7 in the demo.

Look for The Michael J. Fox Show to at least last a full season, but it's very unlikely it will return in the fall.

Tweeted Hayes in response to the news: "Thanks to @SeanSavesWorld actors & crew & @NBC for a wonderful opportunity. Looking forward to Obama's minimum wage increase to $10/hr."
