11 Essential Nashville Songs: Country Classics That Make the Show

by at .  Updated at . Comments

Nashville is where legends are made, and aspiring stars chase their dreams. A unique blend of culture, personality and drama, it's peerless as a music scene.

ABC's series by the same name has its finger on the pulse of the city, doing justice to the promised land with a terrific collection of characters and songs.

The eclectic, acclaim-worthy tracks for Nashville Season 1 were executive produced by T-Bone Burnett, whose wife, Callie Khouri, created the show.

In Nashville Season 2, Buddy Miller took over at the helm, injecting a little more energy and a slightly more mainstream sound without any dropoff in quality.

You really can't go wrong with any selection on the show's three soundtracks, but we've picked out our 11 favorite Nashville music selections below.

Scroll through them and see which of your favorites we chose - or missed:

Connie Britton & Charles Esten - This Time
Rayna and Deacon have been billed as a legendary songwriting duo, but their latest collaboration may be their best yet from a fan's perspective. "This Time" they've delivered a truly infectious tune.

Nashville Quotes

Don't do it Rayna. I know he's the safe choice, but he's the wrong choice.

Deacon
