Meg Ryan has sort of been cast on one of this fall's most anticipated new comedies.
Entertainment Weekly confirms that the veteran actress has landed the role of Future Sally, the narrator on How I Met Your Dad who will tell the story to her kids of, well, how she met their dad.
It's the same role Bob Saget took on for nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother.
Greta Gerwig will play the lead in this CBS spinoff, which will be produced by HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and which will follow the same sort of set-up as the original sitcom, which went off the air on March 31.
