by at .  Updated at . Comments

Viewers are still buzzing over the Once Upon a Time Season 3 finale, most notably those final few moments.

Yes, TV Fanatics, that really was Elsa from the billion-dollar blockbuster Frozen.

What role might she play on the ABC drama this fall? Where will various Once Upon a Time romances head?

Visit TV Guide for a full interview with executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz and scroll down for excerpts from this post-mortem Q&A::

Once Upon a Time Season 4 Banner
  • Has Elsa been cast yet? No.
  • Will she serve as a villain? "She was never a villain. She was only thought to be. For us, that's powerful," Kitsis said, with Horowitz adding: "We truly want to honor the character that everybody has fallen in love with so quickly. When you see how our interpretation of her and what we do with her, you will see that's exactly what we're trying to do."
  • Will other Frozen characters appear on Season 4? Yes, that's the plan.
  • Will Robin Hood struggle with his feelings between Regina and Maid Marion? Absolutely. "The journey of Robin and Regina is something we really want to explore when the season starts," teases Horowitz.
  • What about Emma and Hook? "What we saw in the finale was the beginning of something, which could go in many different ways and many different avenues down which they could go," says Horowitz.
  • What will raising Neal be like for Charming and Snow? Says Kitsis: It will be interesting for them to have a newborn because we've never seen them have that experience... Don't forget - they both share one heart. We still have to dive into what that means."

What did you think of the finale, Fanatics?

And, it must be asked, who do you think should play Elsa?

UPDATE: Elsa isn't the only character from Frozen coming to Season 4!

Wow I really want Emma and hook to stay together, that poor guy been through the ringer with Emma and her family!!!! Tired of seeing him the pitiful one for once.,and as far as Regina she turned good why shouldn't she be happy! Maybe just maybe frozen will kill the maid Marion by accident and Regina and Robin Hood will be happily ever after!my daughter is so excited about frozen,I can actually watch a program with my daughter without worry....thumbs up since cable is so distorted these days! :)

I absolutely love this show! but I have some questions about the season finale: - Why on earth woudl Robin Hood be in love with his wife's murderer? For what he knows, his wife is dead because of the Evil Queen... he didn't even talks about it or is angry with Regina... there isn't a single conversation between them about it... - Belle is the only character that sees Hook and Emma in the past (and also Rumple, but he drinks the posion to forget...) Belle should remember Emma and Hook in the future (present).. the writers missed it, or we should asume that she drinks the poison too?

Oh I hope they don't destroy Emma and Hook's new relationship!!! Many avenues???? Im scared!

I am excited. especially since Elsa is not a villain. She is misunderstood, scared and cannot control her powers. More Frozen characters ?! YAY !!! Regina on the other, I hope she'll keep it together. A broken heart, because she put it back in, will crush her... Robin and her will prevail. Sorry Marian.
I am intrigued by Snow and Charming sharing one heart !!! What does it mean ??? Baby Neal. It's definitely going to be interesting to see them raise him. They've never had the chance to do it with Emma.

People seem to forget that all of the Disney movies are based on fairytales that are hundreds of years old. There are Cinderella tales in almost every culture for example. Frozen is based on The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson (hence why three of the characters are named Hans, Kristoff, and Anna). While the Disney movies are the jumping off point, mostly because they are more familiar to the general public than the Grimm and Anderson tales, the fairytales are the basis for the show. They did Hansel and Gretel in season one which is not a Disney movie, nor is Little Red Riding Hood. They are fairytales. Yes some of their characters are very obviously taken from the movies (Belle, and Ariel) and it seems Elsa will be the same. I wish they had done The Princess and The Frog/Tiana, The Princess and the Pea, or even The 12 Dancing Princesses before Frozen though. I was kind of hoping they'd go to another world like Agrabah since they touched on that (but not Aladdin or Jasmine) in Wonderland or maybe even Narnia since they went to Oz. For a second I thought maybe it was the White Witch forming from the blue goo stuff. But like others have said, it's a smart move on their part. I'm actually pretty excited to see a real life version of Anna; she's so spunky and different from all of the other characters on the show.

I think that doing Elsa right now is perfect her popularity is high right now and this could boost their ratings and bring in new and younger viewers.....I am excited about the new season and can't wait to see where it goes I think that Regina should have her happy ending with Robin and maid Marion should fulfill her fate Emma didn't bring her back on purpose she thought she was doing good but I was yelling at the TV for Emma to leave her there lol....I know Regina won't kill Emma because of Henry so not worried there but she may make problems for her and maybe hook...Please don't make Regina evil again I like her as a haroine....

Boooo! The writers should have done something else. They have stuck with classic Disney until now and it sux! Loving hook and Emma though!

Yeah.... Uh how is Red Riding Hood, Hansel & Gretel, Lancelot, and regular old Rumplestilskin Classic Disney??

Because red or rumple are not Disney characters. Neither was snow white until Disney himself had the movie made.

I'm excited that they brought in Elsa. I love Frozen and I can't wait to see what happens with her character. It sounds like she wouldn't be evil and she will be more like her character from the movie which I'm happy about because she's such an awesome character. The other Frozen characters I want to see are Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf but especially Olaf.

I guess they chose FROZEN because of it's popularity, so they can boost their ratings. If I remember correctly, numbers have been quite mixed this season. So I can't really blame the writers. And then again, there are so many fairy tales and Disney movies they could have picked from. This FROZEN hype gets on my nerves.

Hochberger

Don't blame them one bit for moving on Frozen so quickly.
