Carol Kane to Recur on Gotham

An Oscar nominee is headed to Gotham.

TV Line reports that Carol Kane has landed a recurring role on the highly-anticipated Fox series.

She will come on board Episode 2 and portray Gertrud Kapelput, the mother of Oswald Cobblepot, the man who will grow up become The Penguin.

Kane earned an Academy Award nomination in 1976 for her role in Hester Street and, on the small screen, most recently stopped by episodes of Girls and Anger Management.

Gotham will air Mondays at 8/7c and tell the backstories of various Batman villains, along with Detective Jim Gordon (played by Ben MacKenzie).
