Fox (Already) Cancels Hieroglyph

Fox has canceled Hieroglyph. Yes, already.

The drama, which has been ordered to series this spring by now-former President Kevin Reilly, had filmed one episode and was set to make a midseason debut on the network.

But the series - which starred Max Brown, Reece Ritchie, Condola Rashad and John Rhys-Davies - was not coming together creatively in the way executives had hoped, leading to this unusual decision.

Hieroglyph chronicled a “notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharoah,” according to the official Fox synopsis.

This forces the criminal to navigate castle intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and divine sorcerers, all while racing to prevent the downfall of one of history’s greatest civilizations.

It certainly sounded different, huh?
