David Zayas has booked a trip to Gotham.
According to Deadline, the former Dexter star will appear on multiple episodes of this new Fox series as Salvatore Maroni, one of the city’s most dangerous gangsters.
In the Batman lore, the character is a street operator made his way up, eventually controlling the city’s drug trade and unions.
He's a violent individual second only to Carmine Falcone in terms of power and influence. He's also responsible for turning Harvey Dent into Two-Face.
Zayas, ironically, is a former police officer best known for playing Angel Batista throughout the full run of Dexter.
We spoke to Ben McKenzie and Jada Pinkett Smith at Comic-Con and gathered up exclusive scoop from these stars regarding their characters on Gotham. It premieres on September 22.
