CBS Updates Fall Lineup: Mom to Follow The Big Bang Theory on Thursdays

CBS is switching things up for fall. 

Due to the success of its premiere Monday night, the network will continue double episodes of The Big Bang Theory Season 8,  leading into Scorpion. As both shows are about geeks and skew toward male viewers, this isn't a package they're willing to break up as of yet.

They're also fully committed to the success of Mom, which they feel would benefit from The Big Bang Theory lead in as well. To make sure that happens, ratings success The Millers will switch nights with Mom for fall when The Big Bang Theory moves to Thursdays. 

Mom was originally slated to premiere on Monday, October 20, but that night and time will now belong to The Millers, with Mom debuting on October 30 when The Big Bang Theory moves to Thursdays.

Confusing? Sure. But capitalizing on the success of The Big Bang Theory by giving three shows the benefit of its lead-in numbers seems fair.
