Viewers are accustomed to shocking developments every single week on Scandal Season 4.

But Entertainment Weekly has confirmed a true stunner in the works for the ABC drama's midseason finale:

Network insiders have confirmed that Khandi Alexander will reprise her eerily awesome role as Olivia’s scheming mom on Scandal Season 4 Episode 9.

The installment will air on November 20, it will be titled "Where the Sun Don’t Shine" - and that's pretty much all we know about it.

But the last time we saw Mama Pope, Rowan had framed her for the murder of the President’s son (a crime Jake is now accused of) and locked her away, though Olivia and Fitz believe her to be dead.

In other words: it's safe to say we're curious about her return.
