The Originals Q&A: Leah Pipes on Cami Kicking Butt, Klaus/Marcel and Being Human

Cami O'Connell is no delicate flower! What does The Originals Leah Pipes have to say about playing one of the few humans in New Orleans? And what about the choice between Klaus or Marcel?
We took a few minutes to ask her those questions and more during a recent interview. Check out what she has to say and then get ready for The Originals Season 2 Episode 7 to see her in action.
TV Fanatic: How much fun has it been to play Cami this season? She's got quite a juicy storyline right now.
Leah Pipes: It has been so much fun! She's standing up to these monsters and she's not afraid at all.
TVF: What can we expect from Cami on Monday night's episode as she and Josh team up against Vincent?
LP: Cami isn't happy, at all. She's pretty mad actually. She's going to be getting some revenge on Monday night.
TVF: Do you think Cami's taking too many risks this season?
LP: I don't know. I think she's at the point where she knows she's in this battle and she has to take these risks. She's out to prove she's not a damsel in distress and she can take care of herself.
TVF: We have to ask: Klaus or Marcel?
LP: Neither!! They're both monsters! Doesn't Cami need to find a nice, normal human to date?
TVF: Like who? Matt Donovan? He's the only other human to have survived this long across the TVD-verse.
LP: Yes! Cami and Matt Donovan!
(Editor's note: NOPE! We choose both Klaus AND Marcel. Or either. Okay, okay, so Cami and Matt Donovan might work too... #crossover)
TVF: How much therapy will Klaus need from you now that his REAL father is back?
LP: Wasn't that just the greatest twist!? Klaus is going to need a lot of therapy, a lot of couch time. If it's not one thing, it's his mother, you know?
TVF: Ha! Right? Speaking of therapy, how awesome would an episode be featuring Cami and the Mikaelsons having some good talk therapy?
LP: I've actually thought that would be a great idea for a while. Just bring the Mikaelson family together and have Cami go "Kol, how did you feel when Klaus daggered you?" Or, like, "Okay, this is the talking bear and the only person who gets to talk is the one holding the bear."
TVF: And then they all rip the bear to pieces and start to kill each other--
TVF & LP: AGAIN.
TVF: If you could be a werewolf, vampire, or witch, which would you choose and why?
LP: I've been asked this question before, and I have to go with witch. You have all the power, but you're still human. Cami can still have babies and not have to kill anybody.
TVF: But both the vampires and the werewolves hate the witches...
LP: That's true. Totally true. But still, there's some cool power that comes from being a witch, you know?
TVF: Where do you want Cami's story go as the season progresses?
LP: I don't know, really. I'd kind of like to see Cami have a story independent of the supernatural elements. She's basically the only human in New Orleans, you know?
