Stalker Round Table: Perry's Commuppance

at .

We witnessed two takedowns on Stalker Season 1 Episode 11. Yes, Perry finally got his comeuppance!

Our TV Fanatics Allison Nichols, Stacy Glanzman and Paul Dailly are joined by TV Fanatic super-fan Amy Perrin as they discuss the stalker reveal, how Perry will react to his arrest and whether Amanda and Jack will hook up. Join our discussion in the comments!

What was your favorite quote or scene?

Allison: It's a toss up between the look Janice gives Beth when she walks Perry in, and the scene where Jack is playing video games with his son. The first is a kick ass moment where you just want to high five everyone, and the second is adorable.

Stacy: I have to go with Janice in Perry's dorm room. She was not phased at all by him and it was clear she wasn't backing down. I liked her line "I'm pretty good at looking."

Amy: My favorite scene was when Janice confronted Perry in the parking garage. She was brilliant at getting under his skin, and provoking him so much that he wound wind up assaulting her, which led to him being arrested. I loved it.

Paul: My favorite scene has got to be Janice owning Perry. The guy has had it coming to him for a long time. I found myself cheering when Janice got him arrested.

What did you think of the case this week?

Allison: It was alright. The case definitely wasn't one of my favorites. It was hard to believe anything that the woman who was being stalked said. The best part of the case was definitely everyone getting really into her tell all book.

Stacy: It was okay. It didn't hold my attention as well as some of the others have. I'm definitely much more invested in the Perry story line.

Amy: The case of the week was okay.  I thought that Stella was a bitch, and for awhile even thought that she was orchestrating the stalking to get back at her ex-husband, Tom. Her character did not elicit much sympathy in me, which is not usually the case for me with victims.

Paul: I enjoyed it. It was interesting enough. The characters introduced were really vivid. We learnt so much about them in such short time, especially with the Perry stuff going on at the same time.

Talk about Perry's next move.

Allison: Well, it's unlikely that the charges against him will hold. Either the writers will dig up evidence and bring the end of Perry for awhile, or he will live to terrorize Beth another day. It would be really interesting if now he fixated on Beth and Janice.

Stacy: So far he's actually been pretty unpredictable, which is what makes him so interesting. I agree with Allison that the charges won't stick, but who knows what his next move will be? He's clearly escalating and my guess is he'll turn violent soon, but who will that violence be directed at? Will he go after Beth directly or instead focus on the people she cares about?

Amy: Perry is going to be really pissed when he gets out of jail, which I am sure will be soon given his family's wealth and connections. Being thrown in jail will just fuel his obsession and rage even more, and I can see him targeting Janice as well as Beth.

Paul: I’m guessing his father will get him off. I’m also guessing Perry will be out for revenge on both Janice and Beth, while also questioning the circumstances surrounding his mothers death. He won’t be happy.

What did you think of the stalker reveal?

Allison: I found it more interesting when it was the ghost writer who was kidnapping for her. The husband, or ex-husband, was a little predictable.

Stacy: I agree that it was a little predictable. I can't believe he really fell for the "I want to do it, give me the gun" play. Of course she was going to shoot him, though her aim could use some work.

Amy: I was actually surprised that the stalker turned out to be Tom. I kind of thought that thought it could be Oliver, the book editor. He kept talking about publicity, and what better publicity for the book than stalking it's author, Stella.

Paul: It was good. I also had a feeling it was the book editor. The show manages to put so many suspects in the frame, that it is always difficult to know who the writers make it out to be until it plays out to us on screen.

Could Amanda and Jack get together?

Allison: I don't think so. I certainly don't want them to. He was stalking her, and I don't know if I could willingly let someone back into my life romantically who had a bit of a stalking problem.

Stacy: Could they? Probably, but I don't want them to either. Jack has some issues but it is nice that he's at least getting to spend some time with his son.

Amy: Amanda is very wary of Jack, and rightfully so. Now that Amanda has agreed to allow Jack to see their son, Ethan, she  will be keeping a watchful eye on him. Jack would really have to prove that he is a changed man in order for Amanda to even consider a romantic relationship with him.

Paul: Possibly. It’s clear Amanda has never seen the side of him she’s seen the past few weeks. I think going forward she could be convinced to date him again, or at the very least, have a drunken encounter.
