ABC Family has picked up The Fosters for a third season.

"We are thrilled to be making more episodes of The Fosters - a show that has not only garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards but resonates with our passionate and committed audience,” said Karey Burke, Executive Vice President, Programming and Development, ABC Family. 

The Fosters, a one-hour drama that centers on a multi-ethnic family comprised of foster children and biological children, is executive produced by Jennifer Lopez.

It returns with new episodes on Monday, January 19 at 8/7c on ABC Family.
