Jada Pinkett Smith is on her way out of Gotham.

The actress confirmed her departure from the Fox drama in an interview this week with Live! With Kelly and Michael, telling the hosts:

"I signed for a year and the year is up. But there are some great things coming ahead on Gotham, believe you me. There's a lot of good stuff coming."

She reiterated that decision and her departure while speaking to Extra, teasing what's to come when Gotham Season 1 ends saying there's an "awesome finale" on tap.

Pinkett Smith has portrayed gangster Fish Mooney since the opening episode of this network hit. But the character has recently fallen on hard times, losing her valuable mob family and going underground.

She's been shoved to the side, very likely because producers know Smith is on her way out.

But will Fish will be breathing when the actress says goodbye? That's the question.
