CSI's William Petersen is returning to television!

Peterson is joining Manhattan Season 2 in as a series regular. He'll play Colonel Emmett Darrow, an enigmatic new ranking military officer at Los Alamos.

A deeply religious and patriotic man, Darrow feels called by God to usher in the atomic future, and to spread American values across the globe.

Manhattan is set in Los Alamas, New Mexico as scientists from around the globe work together to create the world's first atomic bomb. The series also stars John Benjamin Hickey, Olivia Williams, Daniel Stern, Ashley ZukermanĀ and Rachel Brosnahan.

Manhattan begins production next month in New Mexico for a 2015 return.
