ABC News & Notes: A Different American Crime, A Bright Future for Castle and Grey's Anatomy

at .

It's pretty much ABC day across the television dial today.

The network unveiled its new fall schedule this morning and then President Paul Lee jumped on a conference call with reporters soon afterward to provide a few details regarding a few established hits.

Beckett is Beaming - Castle Season 7 Episode 23
Meredith Goes Home - Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Episode 22

Among the most notable tidbits:

  • Stana Katic has signed a one-year contract and will star on Castle Season 8.
  • American Crime Season 2 will feature "a completely different scenario and a completely different crime, even placed in a different part of America," although: "Some of these iconic actors from season 1 of American Crime are going to come back and play different roles.”
  • As for the future of Grey's Anatomy and Castle, both of which are returning for another year? Look for them to return for another year after that as well... and then another... and another.

“[It’s] not the final season of either,” Lee said “And I would like to see them run for many, many years to come. They’re both powerful, vibrant brands with incredibly passionate audiences."

That's for sure!

ABC Quotes

Aren’t we judged by how we treat people? I don’t mean as doctors. I mean as people. Especially those who don’t have the same advantages that we have. We hire Shaun and we give hope to those people with limitations that those limitations are not what they think they are. That they do have a shot! We hire Shaun and we make this hospital better for it. We hire Shaun and we are better people for it.

Dr. Aaron Glassman

Why were you rude to me when we first met then nicer to me the second time we met and now you want to be my friend? Which time was it that you were pretending?

Dr. Shaun Murphy
