Days of Our Lives Round Table: Sami Returns

at .

The residents of Salem were shocked to learn the latest victim of the Neck Tie KIller was none other than Will Horton. His death brought Sami and Sonny back to town as Will’s family and friends shared their grief.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Stickywicket and Jaysdelina from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives Fan Forum as they debate Sami’s reaction to her son’s death, Marlena’s doubts about Chad’s guilt and Sonny’s plans to leave town once again.

What did you think of Sami’s reaction to the news?

Jack: I was underwhelmed. The shock was moving, I guess, but the rage was typical Sami and we saw something similar with Eve. Plus Sami very quickly got obsessed with that letter from EJ.

Stickywicket: I thought at first, it was unusual, but then different people handle grief in different ways. I liked how the writers had her breakdown at the crime scene/Will's apartment.

Jaysdelina: To me, Sami's reaction was really frightening. We're all used to "Hurricane Sami",so when she came in without so much as a whimper and went into Marlena's arms silently, it wasn't good. I think we all knew it was only a matter of time before she lost it.

Christine: As Jaysdelina said, I was expecting Hurricane Sami. Quiet, calm, serious Sami was unexpected and a little scary. Everyone deals with grief differently and Sami’s just coming up on the anniversary of EJ’s death. I think she’s afraid that if she looses it she’ll never get back up.

Should Marlena be more vocal concerning her doubts about Chad’s guilt?

Jack: Yes. He's already convicted in the court of public opinion and all sorts of people want to get him. Rafe needs to not be the lone voice of reason.

Stickywicket: I think she should. She has to be thinking, if he saved my life with Stefano, he wouldn't be the one to have tried to kill me a couple months later.

Jaysdelina: Marlena should definitely be more vocal about her doubts about Chad's guilt. It's not fair that this guy, who quite frankly isn't like the other Dimeras is being railroaded simply because his last name happens to be Dimera and this kind of thing is expected of the Dimera family.

Christine: Poor Chad. It’s like the whole world is against the guy and the only thing he’s done is change his last name to Dimera. I was shocked that Marlena wasn’t more vocal about her doubts. Perhaps she could have mentioned that there’s the possibility Chad was innocent to Sami while she was trying to smother the guy with a pillow.

How stupid was Chad to confront Ben on his own?

Jack: Incredibly stupid. What did he think was gonna happen? Or was he so despondent about his chances that he was attempting suicide at Ben's hands?

Stickywicket: I think he was very unwise, but because of this they may catch Ben much sooner.

Jaysdelina: On some level it was definitely stupid because we know how volatile Ben is. We know how dangerous he is but in his defense, Chad hasn't seen the blow ups like we have. He knows Ben's the killer but at the same time he probably didn't think it would escalate as it did.

Christine: It was stupid but I think he was thinking with his heart more than his head. He rushed off to rescue Abigail from a murderer. He didn’t realize he’d be the one in need of rescuing.

Were you surprised that Sonny was thinking of leaving Salem once again?

Jack: Not really. What's keeping him here? I thought it was very tasteless for Paul to try to reconnect with him under the circumstances.

Stickywicket: I have to say, "Kinda." I would have liked to see a storyline with Paul and Sonny.

Jaysdelina: You know, I was both surprised and disappointed Sonny was thinking of leaving Salem again. Little Arianna has already lost one father and to be thinking about leaving her like that...well it's just not right. She needs both a mother and father and I think he fits the bill nicely.

Christine: I was disappointed. I know he’s hurting but he always considered himself Ari’s other Daddy. How can he run out on her now when he needs her more than ever.

Do you share Eric’s doubts about EJ’s letter or do you think it’s the real deal?

Jack: I share Eric's doubts. It came out of nowhere and Andre is lurking around...

Stickywicket: Hmm, this is a tough one. I am not sure. I have a feeling EJ is not really gone.

Jaysdelina: I'm on the fence with this one. The audience knows that EJ isn't dead, or at least we highly suspect he's not, but time will tell. Let's just say it wouldn't surprise me if this was the real deal and it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't.

Christine: The letter may be real but I’m still wondering if Stefano (or maybe Andre) has EJ stashed away somewhere.

Was there anything that disappointed you this week in Salem?

Jack: No JJ this week. Also Daniel and Nicole's rushed engagement makes me feel cheated, especially when they haven't shared scenes in weeks.

Stickywicket: I am interested to see what John will find out about his past. We have seen it rewritten a couple of times, just hope whatever it is, is final this time.

Jaysdelina: As I said in a previous answer, I was very disappointed in Sonny. To essentially abandon a little girl because he's grieving, that's not right. He has every right to grieve as he needs to, but as a father figure he needs to put that little girl first. This is going to be a huge loss in her life whether she remembers Will or not.

Christine: I was surprised we didn’t have a scene with Adrienne comforting Lucas. I’m hoping we get one very soon.

What was your favorite quote, scene or story line from the week?

Jack: Sonny and Gabi sharing their grief when they met at the apartment. I found that to be the saddest aspect of the aftermath of Will's death.

Stickywicket: I do like the character of Steve. I loved his scenes with Caroline; two great actors together.

Jaysdelina: I had two moments actually. The moment during Ben and Chad's confrontation when Chad said,"I'm taking Abby and I'm getting her out of here!" I loved that because it shows he's NOT like the other Dimeras. He truly loves Abby and wants to protect her. The second was in the morgue with Will and Sami. She leaned down kissed Will and said something like,"It's ok, mommy and daddy are going to chase the tigers away". A truly poignant moment between mother and son.

Christine: Lucas finding out his son was dead. He and Will were so close. That scene had me in tears.

Days of Our Lives Quotes

I don't know how Rafe mansplained this to you, but I was upset over losing Will and he was upset over losing you and we were just two exes trying to comfort each other.

Sami

He's taken enough from our family. I will not allow him to ruin our lives any more than he already has.
