Heroes Reborn Season 1 Episode 7 Review: June 13th - Part One

This show is getting better by the week.
On Heroes Reborn Season 1 Episode 7, we took a trip to the past and it led to a lot of changes for our key players and it resulted in the best episode since Heroes Season 1.
That may be a bold statement, but it was the hour that made me realize how much I loved this franchise all those years ago. We got answers. Solid answers that won't be rendered useless in a few weeks. The most important one was that Claire Bennett is really dead, but she gave birth to twins before her passing.
I kind of raised my eyebrow at Malina being the name of one of them because that was a little predictable.
It made sense considering the focus that has been put on her as some sort of savior so far and Hiro's constant mentions of butterflies. Malina sees them dead quite often. The bit that really got me was the other kid got called Nathan after Angela's dearly departed son.
I guess that means that shot of Nathan lying in a pool of blood as we closed out Heroes Season 4 was true. Well, it paved the way for Tommy to actually be Nathan and because of the good guys messing with time. Tommy/Nathan is ready to begin to save mankind, but does he even know his sister exists?

How are they all grown up when Claire just died, you ask? Well, good old Hiro sent Angela back to party like it's 1999 with them. Angela had a big presence tonight, and it was a fantastic return for her character.She's always been a smart woman, and I couldn't quite believe that Mohinder went Team Erica.
That may well have gotten him killed. Hiro attempting to save him was very nostalgic and all, but Hiro should have left Harris stuck in some sort of time loop. I don't want to see him, or any of his clones, ever again.
Erica is crazy if she thinks she's actually going to make it to this new world. She's going to be killed off pretty soon, and I hope that Phoebe is the one to end her. She's fooled the girl into thinking what she did was right and well, it isn't.
It should be interesting to see how Erica copes with finding Angela and Claire's kids because that's going to be one tough job.
Don't worry. When I see Claire, I'll tell her you've been detained.

For all Hiro goes on about changing the past can mean hell for everyone, I cant help but think it couldn't get much worse than Angela's vision. They do come true every time, so there's that.
This time, you save the cheerleader. I'll stop the bomb.

Elsewhere, we got a lot of insight in to Joanna, Luke and Dennis' lives when they were a happy family. I do hope that throughout all of these changes, Dennis manages to emerge alive. We've seen how horrible these two become, so it would be nice to let them get a happy ending this time round. It can't all be doom and gloom.
"June 13th - Part One" was an excellent hour of TV. I thought this would be a retread of what went down that day, but showing us the action from so many different perspectives was really engaging from start to finish. If this hour is anything to go by, Heroes is back and shining brighter than ever.
Stray thoughts:
- Who is Nathan and Malina's father? That's probably going to take up the bulk of the last batch of episodes.
- Noah going after Erica with a gun will only lead to something very bad, so I sure hope that past Noah manages to stop him.
- Hiro's lines were on point. He had me chuckling every time he spoke. Can he like stick around for the rest of the season?
- Noah seemed pretty pissed at Casper. I even thought Casper was one of the good guys! He better get his comeuppance soon!
