Ciara continued to fantasize about Chad while Joey made more poor decisions while on the run and did anyone notice that Summer hasn’t been seen in Salem in a while?

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Wendylou from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate the potential couple that makes them ill, if anyone misses Summer and why this was such a disappointing week on Days of Our Lives. 

Which potential couple is the least nauseating? Kayla and Fynn, Chad and Ciara, or Deimos and Nicole.

Jack: Ugh. How about none of the above? I guess Deimos and Nicole because there's no consent issues involved there if we must have one of these three .

Wendylou: Ugh! That's a tough choice as they are all pretty bad. I'd say Chad and Ciara. I can't stomach it. It's a bad cliche, (doing the young nanny), made worse by the fact that Ciara has no personality. Kayla and Fynn are pretty bad too but that's more because it's so manufactured and out of nowhere.

Christine: I hate them all but Deimos and Nicole are the least sickening. Kayla is annoying the heck out of me lately and Ciara’s crush on Chad is horrible on many levels. Thankfully Chad seems to have no interest but Ciara is 18, a recent victim of rape, and has admitted these feelings to her therapist who did nothing! Ugh!

Was Joey right to confess to driving the getaway car?

Jack: Yes, but he was wrong to do it to protect his loser girlfriend. Maybe Aiden can get involved in getting his confession thrown out instead of bothering Hope all day long.

Wendylou: Yes but will he come clean about ALL his crimes? I'm personally okay if they lock him up and throw away the key. He should be in the cell next to Chase but for some reason he's a "good" kid and Chase is not. This show is so hypocritical.

Christine: I agree with all of the above. Joey’s reason for confessing was to protect Jade, not take responsibility for his actions but considering he’s already gotten away with murder…literally, why should he think robbing a convenience store is any big deal? 

We haven’t seen Summer in a couple of weeks. Do you miss her?

Jack: Not at all. I hope she stays gone. I wouldn't mind a non-exit story for her.

Wendylou: Who?

Christine: Until someone mentioned her absence, I hadn’t even noticed. I think I was just relieved not to have her on screen every day. If she disappeared without explanation, I’d be more than happy. 

Paul mentioned he still has feelings for Sonny. If Sonny comes back would you like to see more of this relationship?

Jack: If they take it slowly and Paul doesn't become obsessed and obnoxious.

Wendylou: YES!!!

Christine: I miss Sonny. He was one of my favorite characters but I’d like to see them actually develop this relationship and not just throw these two back together. 

Was there anything that disappointed you this week in Salem?

Jack: Is JJ still lying on the floor after being punched? Is Jen still sober? Why did we have a million scenes of Nicole/Deimos/Kate while these characters are MIA mid-storyline?

Wendylou: The fact that everyone is running around in leather jackets in JUNE! I don't understand why two people who fight as much as Kate and Deimos and who trust each other so little after such a short time are even considering rushing into marriage.

Christine: That they concentrated on their worst storylines during this shortened week. Joey and Jade. Kayla and Fynn. Kate, Deimos, and Nicole, Ciara. If I weren’t a long time fan I probably would have changed the channel. 

What was your favorite quote, scene, or storyline from the week.

Jack: Aiden's scenes with Hope and Chase.

Wendylou: Wow, not a lot to choose from since it was a two-day week but maybe seeing Paul talk about still having feelings for Sonny. It would be nice to see him in a happy storyline for once - if Sonny comes back and is ready to move on from Will.

Christine: Just the mention of Sonny brightened my day. Other than that, there wasn’t much to be happy about this week in Salem.
