Days of Our Lives Round Table: Is Victor Innocent?

at .

Brady had Victor arrested right in Maggie’s hospital room, Philip and Chloe came up with a plan, while Chad had to deal with Ciara’s unrealistic expectations about love on Days of Our Lives.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Vanessa from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum, to debate who took Tate, who should have custody of Thomas and other happening from the week in Salem.

Do you think that Victor is responsible for Tate’s kidnapping?

Vanessa: I don't know I'm getting mixed vibes from it.

Jack: I don't think Victor is responsible. It's just TOO obvious and I think it has to be a red herring, plus the drama will be better if it turns out Sonny and Justin weren't blinded by family loyalty after all and Brady was the blinded one. Of course this show isn't exactly known for subtlety so I could be wrong about that.

Christine: I hope it’s not Victor. I’d hate to see Maggie’s heart crushed like that. I’d say Deimos is the culprit but the show seems to be working hard to turn him around. I’m still wondering if Kristen was somehow involved.

Victor Behind Bars - Days of Our Lives

Were you surprised that Brady turned on Victor?

Vanessa: Not really, it was bound to happen. Sooner or later.

Jack: Not really. Brady has been shown time and again to be the most gullible person in Salem. It didn't seem to even occur to him that the "evidence" could be planted until Sonny mentioned it.

Christine: Let’s face it, Brady is an idiot. He’s impulsive, short sighted and easily led, so it’s not a shock that he wouldn’t look at other scenarios, like Victor being set up for this crime.

Would you like to see Philip and Chloe together as a couple?

Vanessa: I'm not against it, the story seems a little forced though.

Jack: Yes, yes, yes! I love Philip and Chloe, and I'd be eager to see the grown-up version of this pairing. Plus you can't beat Kate as an interesting, strong, and purely EVIL antagonist to the couple.

Christine: I didn’t always enjoy them in their younger days but I think I could really like them as a grown up couple. They certainly know each other’s faults and yet, still like and accept one another for who they are. I’m so tired of Belle bad mouthing Philip at every turn; Chloe and Philip are a nice change.

Chloe and Philip Plan For the Future - Days of Our Lives

Should Chad have handled Ciara’s confession of love differently?

Vanessa: Chad did that perfectly, he let her have her say, he was really great about it. Personally I thought he was going to tell her to get the heck out of his house.

Jack: I don't think so. He could have used the nice guy approach of "I only like you as a friend" but since the blunt anvil didn't get through to delusional Ciara, anything less would have given her even more false hope. I'm glad he fired her and, even though I generally don't like parents interfering with their adult children's business, I wouldn't have minded if he had called Hope and made her aware of this problem.

Christine: I don’t know what more he could have said or done. He tried to be nice but was completely honest. This is all in her head. I’m with Jack about calling Hope. Normally, I wouldn’t recommend ratting her out to her mom, but I think Ciara needs help.

Now that Abigail is supposedly dead, who should have custody of Thomas?

Vanessa: I think he should stay with Chad, but I need to see other people helping him.

Jack: I've been saying for weeks that neither Chad nor Jennifer is fit to take care of Thomas, and I think this week's events prove it. At this point I think Belle should take Thomas in temporarily until Chad and Jennifer both regain their minds. She seems the most sane person in this entire mess.

Christine: Chad is grief stricken but that doesn’t make him incapable of taking care of his son. Like any single parent, he’s going to need competent help. i wish Jennifer would pull it together to help, but at this point she can’t be trusted to take care of herself, never mind a child.

Chad Tells Ciara The Truth - Days of Our Lives

Was there anything that disappointed you this week in Salem?

Vanessa: Sonny and Chad haven't had a scene yet.

Jack: No JJ. I would have liked to have seen the scene between him and Abe that Theo alluded to, and for him to have an actual role in the story of his sister's supposed death. I also am severely disappointed in the Jennifer relapse story. I know relapses happen but it felt contrived and just worsened Jennifer's character unnecessarily.

Christine: I hated Jennifer’s relapse story because it made it seem as though attending one meeting produced almost magical results. Far from it. It’s a good first step but this is a long and difficult road and Jennifer has to start it over once again.

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline from this week?

Vanessa: Belle really stepped up this week, with both Jennifer and Chad.

Jack: I loved Sonny telling Brady, "You don't have facts. You have opinions." And his willingness to stand up for Victor in general. So good to see Sonny in a strong storyline; I was so afraid he was going to get painted in a corner with Paul lusting after him again.

Christine: I loved how Chloe stood up to Kate at the restaurant. She even seemed to enjoy the encounter. It’s fun seeing Chloe as a confident grown up for once. And I was also thrilled that Sonny has a part int he Kiriakis storyline. I’ve always wanted him to be more a part of the family and it appears the story is headed that way.
