Scream Season 2 Episode 12 Review: When a Stranger Calls

at .  Updated at .

WTF just happened?

I was all ready to be really annoyed by how obvious the killer was, but I have to say I was not expecting a cliffhanger ending to Scream Season 2 Episode 12

At least that was surprising, but now I'm prepared to be even more annoyed if this show isn't renewed!

Okay, so we knew we were going to find out Piper's accomplice. We had our theories, and there were questions as to whether the accomplice recruited a new accomplice.

It kind of looks like it all goes back to Brandon James though, doesn't it?

That call to Kieran at the end, "who told you you could wear my mask" implies that Brandon has been pulling the strings from the beginning.

That's actually kind of great, because it's a total throwback to Roman.

That wasn't the only throwback either. I assume I was not the only one imagining Randy and Stu when Kieran and Eli were pointing fingers at each other.

Even the whole scene at the movie theater played a little like Scream 2, with Dewey and Gale watching the footage the killer wanted them to see.

Congratulations to the 99.9% of you who correctly predicted Kieran was the killer. He was my pick way back in Scream Season 1, and hey, turns out that was also right!

All the evidence pointed to him, even more so as the finale played on, but I couldn't help but hope it wasn't really that obvious. So, I'm at least thankful it didn't end there.

Thank goodness it wasn't Eli. Kieran was really the only one tall enough to actually be the person who killed Haley and strong enough to pull off so many of the other attacks. Eli might be a stalker, but I just would not have bought him as the killer.

I could have maybe bought Gustavo as the killer, but then I'd have to give him serious props for those tears at the hospital. How cute that he really cares about Brooke?

She needs something good in her life right now. She's lost two love interests, her father, and has been stabbed twice! Girl needs a break.

Emma and Audrey on the run as the prime suspects was a fun twist. I kept getting really frustrated with Emma for constantly leaving Audrey behind to go investigate on her own.

I know it was supposed to make us think there was a possibility Audrey could be involved, but I don't think anyone really suspected either of them.

Ms. Lang is now writing about the murders, so she's what, the new Gale Weathers? If Scream comes back are we going to see it made into a movie? If so, who should play Emma?

I know there was some suspicion towards Emma's dad. I never actually suspected him, but I have to admit that I was scanning the guest star names for Tom Everett Scott just in case. Having the killer be someone we barely saw would have felt like a cop out.

This is the first time in the Scream franchise that a killer has been left alive. There must be a plan for him if the series continues. Something tells me he's not just going to rot in prison.

One thing that set the movies apart from other horror franchises was that Scream always had a new killer. The show has deviated from that since Kieran has technically been the killer in both seasons, even if we didn't know it until now.

I was a little disappointed there wasn't more death.

The finale should have been a bloodbath, but the season as a whole left too many people alive. Kieran's obviously not a very good killer considering how many people survived.

So, what did you guys think? I know you weren't surprised at the Kieran reveal, but what about the note attached to the tree and the phone call at the end? Did it leave you wanting more and hopeful for a season 3?

If you missed the big reveal, you can go back and watch Scream online any time!
