Days of Our Lives Round Table: Orpheus is Alive!

at .

With Halloween approaching, things got interesting in Salem with Orpheus coming back from the dead, Marlena and Kayla magically missing, and Aiden disappearing for good.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Wendylou from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to discuss Aiden’s departure, Orpheus’ return, and if Ciara should take her trust fund after this week on Days of Our Lives.

Aiden has moved out of Salem. Are you happy he’s gone or do you wish he was back?

Jack: I love Aiden, or did before he was ruined. I'm relieved he made it out of town alive, was semi-redeemed, and is gone so he can't be subjected to any more character assassination.

Wendylou: I am glad the version of Aiden that was being portrayed this time is gone. I did like Aiden at one time but the show creators decided to sacrifice his character for the sake of their chosen couple, Rafe and Hope, and it's been downhill from there. So, yes, at this time, I'm glad he's gone.

Christine: I liked Aiden before they changed him. Since his return, it’s been downright painful to watch, so I’m glad they finally sent him packing and it was a bit of a relief to see him be even the slightest bit redeemed.

Was Philip right to be offended that Victor didn’t give him the run of Titan?

Jack: Yes. He always gets the short end of the stick with Victor. But he needs to realize this is how Victor will always be and stop throwing tantrums over it.

Wendylou: I don't know that he was right, he hasn't really proven himself that's for sure. But, I can't say I blame him all that much. Deimos seems like a weird choice to me and I can see how Philip might not see how his father could hand control of Titan over to the man whose sole mission was to destroy him and his family just a few short months ago.

Christine: I don’t blame Philip for being upset, but he did throw a tantrum like a two year old. It’s not exactly a selling point for running the family company.

Should Ciara turn down the offer of a trust fund?

Jack: If she truly doesn't want it, that's her prerogative, but Hope had no business invoking Bo's name to manipulate her

Wendylou: I don't think she should make any decision on the matter at this time. She has years to decide if she wants to. I feel like Hope is forcing her hand. Ciara could do good things with that money some day regardless of where it came from.

Christine: It felt like emotional blackmail when Hope told her Bo wouldn’t want her to do it. Hope could have told her daughter about Bo’s history with Victor without being so heavy handed. Wasn’t Hope a trust fund kid? Titan has lot legitimate business too. It seemed unfair to push Ciara so hard when she’s so vulnerable.

Do you miss Adrianna Hernandez?

Jack: I do. She was one of my favorite new characters and someone needs to be the antidote to an excess of Rafe/Hope.

Wendylou: Do you mean Rafe's mother? If so, not really.

Christine: Eh. She was okay, but I can’t say I miss her, and having her gone gives Eduardo more options.

Rate the Orpheus is alive twist from 1 (boring) to 10 (awesome).

Jack: 5. I love Orpheus (even if he did shoot JJ which is unacceptable) but this is so contrived and silly.

Wendylou: I’d give it a 7. It was pretty good but I want to know how he did it. I do like the whole story of the body disappearing from the morgue and him rising from the dead right at Halloween. Very timely. I also liked his magic trick and how John and Steve heard he was the missing body just as Kayla, Marlena and the magician went missing too. Very dramatic.

Christine: I kind of laughed when I first saw him, but I did think his “death” was rather anti-climatic, so I’ll give his return a 6.

What if anyone disappointed you this week in Salem?

Jack: JJ is still on the back burner after being shot and Gabi is so worried about him that she spends all her time flirting with Chad.

Wendylou: Nicole. I'm so upset to see her go right back to groveling and begging a man - and a horrible man at that - for love. Deimos is abusive and self-absorbed. What was the point of Daniel showing her she was worthy of a good man's love (that's the show's line, not mine because I never bought their great love story) if she's going to go right back to being desperate for any man to love her no matter how he treats her or the people she cares about, i.e. Chloe. Days has a hard time letting characters grow and this is a great example.

Christine: I’m with you Wendylou. Why is it that Nicole can never stand on her own. They always have her begging for some guy’s approval or forgiveness. Not only is it lame, it’s repetitive and boring.

Nicole Begs Deimos To Forgive Her - Days of Our Lives

What was your favorite quote, scene or story line from this week on Days of Our Lives?

Jack: Aiden's final scenes were all sorts of amazing. I felt he was talking to and for Aiden fans when he asked to be allowed to keep his memories of the good times and admitted he didn't know who he was anymore.

Wendylou: I’d have to say, Friday's show was pretty awesome. I like the drama of Orpheus' return but even better than that was Andre's set up of Hope to reveal her crime with her own words in public. I'm LOVE it.

Christine: I loved Roman making fun of Rafe’s costume, “Those strappy, little sandals, oh my God. My God, they pull the entire look together.” How Roman kept calling it a skirt and Rafe kept muttering “toga.” That scene was great fun.
