Days of Our Lives Round Table: Will Abe Survive?

A shootout in the Salem square left everyone running for their lives and Abe Carver bleeding out on the ground.

Will Abe survive? Why did Brady go rogue and who is Chloe’s baby daddy? Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Tony from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate that and more after last week on Days of Our Lives.

Why do you think Brady felt justified in calling his own strike team?

Tony: I kind of saw this as him embracing his Kiriakis’ roots. He's trying to protect those that he loves.

Jack: Brady was frustrated, and understandably so, because as usual Salem PD is slow to move and probably barking up lots of wrong trees. Considering that nobody thought to have Rafe reach out to his FBI contacts for assistance and Rafe was too busy sparring with Aiden over Hope to do much investigating, it's very understandable.

Christine: I thought Brady was an idiot. He said the the Salem PD would waste time clearing the scene and negotiating, failing to realize that those things are meant to keep people alive. Also, Brady needs to get better hired guns considering their intelligence was completely wrong. He’s lucky he didn’t get anybody killed.

Abe was shot. Do you think he will survive?

Tony: I would be very surprised if he didn't. Unless some shocking twist is coming, I think Abe will survive.

Jack: I hope so! They FINALLY gave James Reynolds a chance to use his considerable acting skills, so Abe had better survive.

Christine: I agree. It’s about time Abe had a decent storyline. Let’s not kill him off just as he gets one.

Who do you think is the father of Chloe’s baby?

Tony: Deimos. There's no drama in it if it's Philip. So, unless another character with ties to Chloe comes onscreen, I'd say it's Deimos' child.

Jack: Deimos. I think Kate lied about not switching the tests.

Christine: I too, think Kate lied in order to break up Philip and Chloe. I think the baby is Deimos’ but it wouldn’t surprise me if Chloe miscarries due to all of this added stress.

Why didn’t Hope tell Rafe what Aiden said?

Tony: I have no idea. I assume she's trying to handle this on her own, but we'll see.

Jack: Rafe is too much in her business and she wants to handle Aiden her way without his interference.

Christine: I think she’s trying to protect him and she’s trying to figure out how to handle Aiden on her own. Hey, maybe she can just shoot him and blame it on Clyde! Just kidding, but at this point nothing would surprise me.

What disappointed you this week in Salem?

Tony: This was actually a really good week! The only thing I kind of was disappointed in was the overuse of flashbacks. We really didn't need to see Stefano's death again.

Jack: No acknowledgement that Steve is JJ's uncle, JJ being used mainly as background again, and the whole contrived shooting in the Square that looked like a re-enactment of JFK's assassination. What mayor goes around without a security detail at the best of times, never mind when the whole town is on high alert because of a gang of violent criminals on the loose?

Christine: Philip turning on Chloe without even hearing her out was almost as annoying as Claire acting like a spoiled, selfish brat towards everyone from her grandparents to the armed killers on the loose. She was awful but least she was consistently awful.

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline from this week of Days of Our Lives?

Tony: I love Orpheus, so pretty much any scene with him! If I had to pick one, it would be where he made that comment about Clyde bragging about his hunting skills and then shooting the wrong man!

Jack: I loved Abe's speech just prior to the shooting. That was my favorite dramatic quote. But I laughed hysterically at Orpheus' comment that Clyde brags about his hunting ability but can't even hit the right man.

Christine: I actually really enjoyed Paul dealing with Claire. She was more worried about her youtube career than getting shot and Paul kept giving her these incredulous looks, like he couldn’t believe his niece could be this stupid.
