Supergirl Season 2 Episode 12 Review: Luthors

Yes! Lena's a good guy! Right?

Like Kara, my belief in Lena has never faltered, but can we get some actual confirmation already?

I mean, what was that chess piece flashback with the ominous music supposed to mean?

Metallo Visits Lena - Supergirl Season 2 Episode 12

Kara spent nearly all of Supergirl Season 2 Episode 12 believing in Lena's innocence, despite everyone trying to convince her she was guilty.

Nevertheless, she persisted.

With Winn's help, she proved everyone wrong, including her boss who really didn't care one way or the other as long as it made for a good story.

Still, just when we thought for sure Lena was on the side of good, they had to go and give us that questionable scene. It's getting ridiculous.

At this point, if Lena turns out to be bad, or if she's currently good and eventually switches sides, I am going to be super angry. Who's with me?

Lillian is Back - Supergirl Season 2 Episode 12

It was pretty interesting finding out that Lena actually is a Luthor by blood. It was not the slightest bit surprising to learn that her blood was the real reason Lillian broke her out of jail.

Lena owes this woman NOTHING.

It's not Lena's fault her father had an affair. I guess it is somewhat understandable why Lillian distanced herself from her, but that doesn't make it right.

But, Lillian is a psychopath, and Lena should steer clear from her.

By the way, how cute was little Lena?

Kara: I was mad at you because I thought you were dating Eve.
Mon-El: Were, as in past tense. Right? As in, she told you the date didn't actually go well.
Kara: Yeah, she mentioned it.
Mon-El: You know, I'm not super hip on earthly social cues, but why would you be mad if I was dating Eve?
Kara: I'm not mad.
Mon-El: You literally just said you were mad.

Things started out still super awkward between Kara and Mon-El, but they warmed up pretty fast once Kara learned the date with Eve did not go so well.

Kara's love life is just one big interruption, isn't it?

Whether its a mind control device or whatever the hell Mr. Mxyzptlk is, she just can't catch a break in the kissing department.

Speaking of which, that might be the hardest name I've ever had to spell. I listened to him say it a couple of times, and still don't think I could pronounce it if my life depended on it.

Whoever he is, he's going to put a wrench in the Mon-El/Kara relationship for at least another week. Sigh.

Alex: I just wanted to let you know that Maggie and I are dating.
Mon-El: Oh, that was the thing. Okay. Is that like a problem here on Earth?
Alex: Well, on Earth, you know, not everybody supports ladies loving ladies.
Mon-El: Oh, well on Daxam it's the more the merrier.

At least one relationship is going well.

It didn't even occur to me that the rest of the group didn't know about Alex yet, so I didn't really find that scene to be necessary. I did appreciate J'onn admitting he already knew, thanks to his psychic ability.

Also, Winn should not play pool. He might kill somebody.

I think maybe Kara and James are finally back to being friends again. Thank G-d.

James as Guardian will work so much better if he and Kara can fight side-by-side. Lately it's felt like he has his own show that lasts five minutes per episode. It's not working.

I really do like James, and want to see the writers get him involved in a more interesting way. I think that can happen now that Kara seems to be accepting him.

Plus, we need more opportunities to see him in a tank top.

Kara Confronts James - Supergirl Season 2 Episode 12

I have to ask though, how did James know Metallo would go back to the jail for Lena? Did he just assume that? And, if so, how did that possibility not occur to anyone else?

I feel like Maggie should have had a whole team guarding her cell.

Metallo's return was fun. He's a great villain, though sadly, he's kaput now.

I'm starting to wonder if there's going to be the threat of an explosion every week now. At least this time the explosion actually happened.

Why didn't J'onn go with Kara in the first place instead of waiting until she was in trouble? She was going to face a guy with Kryptonite in his chest, you'd think he might have considered the possibility that she would need back up.

Lillian is back on the lam, and who knows how long it will be until she pops back up again. She must have another super secret location for Cadmus. It's only a matter of time before more experiments start wreaking havoc on Kara.

I can't wait until Alex comes face to face with Jeremiah. Though, I'm worried it's going to end badly, and possibly tragically.

So do you guys believe Lena is a good guy? What do you think that ominous scene was supposed to mean? Are they just screwing with us?

Are you frustrated with the interrupted kissing?

I don't know what to expect from Supergirl Season 2 Episode 13. It could be funny, or it could be incredibly cheesy. We'll have to wait and see.

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 12 Quotes

Snapper: This time we need more than just a quote, otherwise it's just another conspiracy theory for Twitter.
Kara: Well, I'll keep digging then.
Snapper: Your gumption annoys me to no end. But keep gumptioning for tomorrow's cover.
Kara: Tomorrow? But that'll be too late. By then everyone will think she's guilty already.
Snapper: Everyone will think she's guilty today. Tomorrow's another story.
Kara: But once it's out there, it's out there. I mean, people still think Macaulay Culkin is dead.
