Preacher Season 2 Episode 5 Review: Dallas

It's clear that the Saint of Killers will kill anything and everything that gets in his way.

After surviving Jesse's uncontrollable anger on Preacher Season 2 Episode 5, it seemed like Viktor was safe until the Saint of Killers paid a visit.

Although we know Viktor wasn't an upstanding kind of guy, it was still hard to watch the Saint of Killer shoot him in the chest.

Jesse's Dark Side - Preacher

Viktor didn't deserve it. Even worse was that his daughter was hiding in the nearby closet and heard everything. That's brutal, but kudos to the little girl for not completely freaking out.

If the Saint of Killers would have killed the girl, I think I would have had to stop watching Preacher.

I get that he has no compassion and his only goal is to kill Jesse so he can get out of his own hell, but killing an innocent little girl would have been too much.

But he didn't only because the girl was smart and knew exactly what the Saint of Killers wanted.

What happens after she shows him where Jesse is? Will the Saint of Killers let her live or kill her because he'll no longer have any use for her?

Jesse just seems to cause trouble wherever he goes. Had he not gone all crazy the Saint of Killers wouldn't have bothered Viktor.

Viktor and Daughter - Preacher Season 2 Episode 5

What I don't get is how the Saint of Killers knew Jesse was there. Why didn't he go to Dennis' place or any of the bars Jesse frequented?

Could it be because he used Genesis at Viktor's place to send Tulip away?

I hate to say it, but Jesse was a loser when he was with Tulip in Dallas.

I don't even know why she stayed with him. All he did was drink and smoke with Reggie while she was at work.

It's no wonder she wanted some excitement in her life. Living with him was a snore fest. Drink. Smoke. Sex. Buy pregnancy test. Do it all over and over and over again.

I don't blame her for leaving. If she would have gone with Jesse, she would have blown her brains out.

She found everything she wanted in Viktor – a life of crime, money, and stability, and a nice guy if we forget about his torture room. But that's exactly what Tulip wanted.

And Viktor seemed to really be into Tulip. The only problem was that Viktor wasn't Jesse.

Despite what seemed like a great relationship (they were playing Monopoly!) Tulip's heart belonged to Jesse.

Jesse and Cassidy - Preacher Season 2 Episode 5

While it seemed like the call from Dani destroyed Tulip's happiness, you have to wonder if she was as happy as she seemed to be.

She gave it all up in an instant when she learned Dani had information about Carlos, and we came full circle to how Tulip ended up in Annville.

It was a slow-moving episode but provided great background to Tulip and Jesse's relationship. It also showed how strong Cassidy and Jesse's relationship is.

Cassidy isn't going anywhere no matter what kind of crazy Jesse gets, but it's a scary thought as to what Jesse will do when and if he finds out about Tulip and Cassidy.

Jesse won't be forgiving no matter how much Cassidy and Tulip mean to him. But that's an issue for another day.

What did you think of "Dallas"? Were you upset about the Saint of Killers killing Viktor after everything that happened?

Will Jesse and gang be able to escape the Saint of Killers before the girl tells him where they're at?
