Preacher Season 2 Episode 7 Review: Pig

at .

Pigs fly (or float), and then they die.

On Preacher Season 2 Episode 7, we met to Jesse's new nemesis, Herr Starr, who rids the world of a floating pig and sets Jesse as his next target.

Exhausted - Preacher Season 2 Episode 7

Preacher keeps getting stranger by the minute, but at least there was a cohesiveness to this hour that allowed non-graphic novel readers to understand exactly what was going on.

Herr Starr is a man to be feared.

It's odd that the former Nazi has joined an organization meant to protect Christ.

He did everything possible to get that remaining spot, and it seems that he's taking his job pretty seriously.

The guy has no morals, so you have to question why he feels the need the be head of the Grail. He doesn't seem very Christian, more like a menacing robotic killing machine.

Maybe he is the best person to be in charge because he has no alliance to Christ. To him, it's just a job...with perks.

Watching him climb to the top was a lot of fun. Every task he got was just playtime for him.

He showed he'll do whatever it takes even going so far as masturbating to distract his target. That had to be the most hilarious part of Herr Starr's backstory. It was just so out there.

And now that he has Jesse in his sights, it's going to get even crazier on Preacher. In fact, I think Herr Starr will be a much more formidable opponent than the Saint of Killers.

But Jesse has a way of getting himself out of tight situations. He's lucky that way, but maybe this time he won't be so lucky.

I doubt Herr Starr cares about his soul or any other soul for that matter.

Jesse has a lot on his mind these days. He's worried about his soul and Tulip and Cassidy. It took a conversation with a street preacher to realize he made a mistake in selling part of his soul.

Cheers - Preacher Season 2 Episode 7

Jesse learned quite a bit from the street preacher. It's apparent that Jesse is going to do some deep soul-searching to figure out what to do next.

His new plan might just be to leave Tulip and Cassidy behind. He might decide this is a journey he should be doing alone.

Tulip's continuing nightmares about the Saint of Killers are bothersome to him. He loves her and doesn't want any more danger to come her way, but he has no idea what's on the way.

Jesse: Are you crazy or just a con man?
Street Preacher: Are those my only choices because I normally describe myself as a left-handed, alcoholic, sinner child of God.

If he does leave, he might be placing her and Cassidy in the biggest kind of danger with Herr Starr on his scent. But he doesn't know that yet.

Tulip is going through her own sort of agony. The Saint of Killers messed with her psyche good. She's always taken care of herself, but she couldn't do it with the Saint of Killers.

Even though she's still a badass, she's realized that she can't beat every foe. Facing the Saint of Killers is unlike anything she's ever experienced.

Waving the Money - Preacher Season 2 Episode 7

If the Saint of Killers comes back, she knows she has no chance, and that scares her more than anything.

She would rather die on her own terms which is why she went back to the bar to get shot over and over again. Maybe she's hoping that one of these times, she won't get back up again.

Bar Guy: We're sorry about your boyfriend, ma'am. Terrible loss.
Tulip: You all should be sorry. We robbed you assholes blind. That wasn't my boyfriend and he wasn't dead. We came in here played you all for the idiots you all are, took your money and drank your beer. So, put your goddamn hats back on and tell me which one of you banjo-loving bitches has got the balls to earn your money back.

Cassidy has his own dilemma to deal with as well. His son is dying and seeking eternal life, something he believes only Cassidy can give him. But Cassidy had no interest in fulfilling Denis' request.

Although Cassidy has never said such a thing, eternal life might not be all it's cracked up to be. While he can rise from the dead, it's not that easy.

He needs blood to regenerate, and it has to be exhausting. He doesn't want his son to have to go through what he's gone through which is a very mature way to think.

That's a Big Bottle - Preacher Season 2 Episode 7

But it also has to be tearing him apart because no parent wants to see their child die before them. And once Denis is gone, there won't be anything Cassidy can do about it.

It's quite the conundrum.

All three of our main characters are facing a dilemma and are at a crossroads on the next steps to take. It might be time for them to go their separate ways, but they have to realize they work better as a team.

I have a feeling that Jesse is just going to disappear, and Cassidy is going to save Tulip from herself, but we'll have to wait and see.

Herr Starr is coming, and it might throw a wrench in all of their plans!

What did you think of "Pig"? Will Jesse be able to outrun Herr Starr? Will Tulip get over her nightmares?

Will Cassidy give Denis eternal life?
