How to Get Away with Murder Season 4 Episode 8 Review: Live. Live. Live.

at .

The baby lives.

That was the main takeaway from How to Get Away with Murder Season 4 Episode 8 which filled in a lot of the blanks about what happened the night of the party.

Annalise Is in Trouble - How to Get Away with Murder

The final scenes were powerful as hell. Watching Annalise give the baby CPR and trying to keep it in the land of the living was harrowing to watch.

Viola Davis continues to impress as Annalise Keating, and something tells me Annalise is going to have some severe attachment issues to the kid when the show returns.

Having lost a baby in the past, Annalise acted quickly to ensure the kid was given the best possible start in life and had she not noticed the kid through all of the blood; we would probably be penning a eulogy for it.

Poor Laurel. If you watch How to Get Away with Murder online, you will know that she's been relentless in her mission to get some revenge on her father for offing Wes, but almost losing the kid was heartbreaking.

Laurel's Revenge - How to Get Away with Murder Season 4 Episode 2

It's horrible to think that Frank was the one who accidentally smacked her in the stomach. There's no way she's going to be able to forgive him anytime soon for that. Their relationship will be back in the doldrums and maybe that's for the best.

She's been so consumed by revenge that she's failed to take care of herself, and assuming she is reunited with her baby, she needs to take some time to recuperate.

It was ominous we never got to see her in the hospital again. Are we to assume that someone takes the kid in between Annalise giving it CPR and Laurel getting to the hospital?

This episode could probably have benefited from an expanded runtime because it felt slightly rushed.

Simon being the person injured at the party was not that surprising, but his admission to Oliver about liking him was one of the craziest twists this show has thrown at us.

Connor Meets Laurel - How to Get Away with Murder

This proved that his animosity towards Connor stemmed from jealousy. Connor is not afraid to show everyone the real him, and that's why Simon resents him.

Simon tripping over the chair and shooting himself was rather absurd, but it didn't make sense to me that Asher would be arrested as quickly as that.

Did he lie and say he shot him to let everyone else get away with it? It's funny because it was a genuine accident this time around.

I have to give credit to Aja Naomi King. Her acting, when she returned to the party with the blood-soaked face, was phenomenal.

Connor turning to Annalise to let her know the truth was a good move. It proved that their relationship was flourishing and that he trusted her to make the right decision about what to do.

Class Action Lawsuit - How to Get Away with Murder

I was surprised Connor was not more dismissive of Oliver for hiding what was going on from him. Maybe he wanted to make sure nobody was injured at the party.

But, something tells me he will not be handing that ring back to Oliver anytime soon. There is never a good time for these two to get engaged.

Something always seems to pop up, and that's because they are never on the same page. If they can't even trust each other, how can we trust that the relationship will work?

Maybe Connor's dad was right that Oliver is not the right man for Connor. The back and forth is tiring to keep up with, and it's becoming a chore to watch them hurt each other.

I still cannot get a read on Bonnie. Her allegiance seems to change on an hourly basis, and that may be alluding to the fact that she's unstable.

Hey, Friend! - How to Get Away with Murder Season 4 Episode 8

She sounded somewhat delusional when she was telling Annalise she loved her. Annalise was so shocked because for weeks this woman has been making her life hell.

How was she supposed to react? Was she supposed to welcome Bonnie back into her life with open arms? That would not be natural, and the two women would be going at it again before long.

I think we can leave the Isaac storyline in the past. There's no logical reason for him to be at the hospital now as teased in the flashforwards from earlier on How to Get Away with Murder Season 4

Nate Has a Visitor - How to Get Away with Murder

There is still a lot about that night we do not know, and that will likely be addressed in the back half of the season.

The other significant development was Dominick listening in on Connor as he returned to Laurel's apartment to find her. Has he been watching everyone ever since he killed Wes, or had Laurel's father grown suspicious of her and is investigating her now?

There are so many questions still to be answered, but at least we know the show is returning in January. That's not too long to wait for all of the answers.

"Live. Live. Live." was a solid episode that will probably go down as one of the craziest midseason finales of the entire series. It was well-executed and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.
