Who wants a slice of Kris' "divine" lemon cake?
Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 14 Episode 9 follows the Kardashian-Jenners as they all began to prepare and decorate for the holidays, which seems a little odd considering Thanksgiving in the United States just happened.
I guess Christmas comes early in Calabasas.
I will come for them if they even dare copy anything I’m doing.
Kim
It's safe to say that, if you're not on her Christmas spirit levels, Kim could be a little much when it comes to getting her "Christmas vibe" correct. I mean, no one wants a plagiarized holiday... that's what Thanksgiving is for.
Kim's controlling and perfectionist personality definitely made an appearance during these events, because, with the holidays, everything has to be perfect when you're inevitably going to be judged by someone for how you decorated and how the holiday turned out.
In this family, it seems impossible for someone to outdo themselves, but apparently Kim fits the mold. Well, Kim and Kris, that is.
Kim's early strike on Kris Jenner with the fake list of her Christmas plans was genius.
Until she revealed she knew all along Kris received the email, it honestly seemed so legit, like Kris was going to go over-the-top and take down Kim's Christmas, but I suppose we should expect more of Kim by now. She's not stupid.
I would have liked to see more conflict about the Christmas decorations, especially involving Kourtney, so we could have gone into more detail about how exactly she copied Kim.
More than just the lights, because if that's all there was, Kim's outburst was just sad.
Why don’t we not talk about our vibes?
Kim
As someone who is also far too invested in Christmas and organizing the perfect holiday, decorations and all, I feel Kim's struggle to remain original, while considering the different ideas of everyone else in her family.
It's hard to keep things straight when you're that detail-oriented in general, but when you're balancing your plans around six other people, it's unbearable. Kim should have lost her mind with what she was trying to do.
The rest of the episode was much lighter, with the occasional dramatic moments, but it felt more like a Christmas special than the series could ever capture because the attention really wasn't on the drama in their lives for once.
Sure, it focused on Kim's obsessive behavior, but it was also a relaxing hour with a baking competition, family dinner, and Santa Clause.
Hell, even Kylie and Kendall took time out of their days to join in for a little while. (No, your 'Kylie is pregnant' suspicions were neither confirmed nor denied, but, that said, her clothes were pretty baggy considering what she usually wears. Do with that what you will.)
Why do you lick Kylie’s ass? Is it because she makes you a lot of money?
Kourtney
Even ten years later, it seems like we're still learning about the Kardashian-Jenner family, like with their dad's cousin who joined them in Calabasas and at dinner, and we're never going to stop learning about their family.
Like, with Kris' traditional lemon cake.

Kris
Ah, Kris, it's no surprise your famous dessert comes from a box. Kris may be good at a lot of things, and sign me up if she ever decides to teach a business class, but clearly baking is not one of them.
Khloe just likes to give her mother crap all the time, which is really what the competition was about. It was never about who makes the better dessert, but Khloe just wanted to make her mom panic for a little while, thus the competition.
Kris doesn't always have the best ideas, though. Her trip to go Christmas shopping in "disguise" seemed to be thwarted from the beginning due to the wig barely making her look any different, and the fact that they were being followed around by a camera crew.
Hard to remain inconspicuous if there are cameras following your every move.
Can we just talk about Kourtney for a second? She didn't really do much in this episode except yell at Kim for no damn reason and make Kim feel bad during their gingerbread house session.
And in the last episode, she was nowhere to be found when it came to learning about the homeless population. Kourtney lives in her own bubble, and it's honestly quite sad.
As we've seen with Kim, these girls can make a big difference if they use their power for good, but Kourtney is so sucked into her rich person lifestyle that she barely notices anyone less fortunate than her. And how could she notice if she doesn't care?
Also, in my own personal hell, Jonathan's presence during their holiday adventures was too important to pass up on, so the "food god" reigned for a good portion of the episode. Please stick a fork in my neck next time, E! Network.
