SMILF Season 1 Episode 3 Review: HALF A SHEET CAKE & A BLUE-RASPBERRY SLUSHIE

Bridgette should stay off Craigslist when her finances are in dire straits.

On SMILF Season 1 Episode 3, the single mother realized she was at risk of getting evicted from her apartment and went to extreme measures to find some cash to keep a roof over her and Larry.

Bridgette in Trouble? - SMILF Season 1 Episode 3

The revelation that Eliza was being paid to eat her favorite food on camera was hilarious. She was so enthusiastic about it because she got to do it all from the comfort of her home.

The money must have been fabulous because she was offering to give Bridgette a high amount. Eliza seemed like a guest star on SMILF Season 1 Episode 2

It now appears she will become very friendly with Bridgette, but I hope she isn't the enabler for Bridgette to make terrible decisions.

You could tell Bridgette was hurting. She thought the acting gag she snagged on SMILF Season 1 Episode 1 was going to help lift some of the financial burdens from her life.

Turning to Craigslist was a dangerous way to make some fast money. She should have known there is no such thing as free. There are always strings attached, but she had her back against the wall.

Bridgette Needs Fast Cash - SMILF

She didn't want to take handouts because she wanted to feel like she'd saved her and Larry all on her own, and it would be good for her to know she did.

The man may have seemed decent out in the open, but the moment his hand moved towards Bridgette's groin area, the "strings attached" became very clear.

Bridgette had the right to punch him. He overstepped and tried to take advantage of her. He was looking for a quick thrill and tried to persuade Bridgette into going somewhere quiet with him.

I shudder to think what would've happened if she got in the car with him. Bridgette doesn't make the best decisions, so it was surprising that she remained out in the open with him.

Bridgette has been sexually assaulted in the past, so this experience probably brought all of that back for her.

Watching her knock the man off of his feet was satisfying because he thought parting ways with some cash and buying her some crappy fast food would result in her letting him have his way with her.

Now that Bridgette has had that negative experience, I'm hoping she'll  stay well away from unorthodox means to make money. She needs to find a job that has security for her.

Bridgette is a Beauty - SMILF Season 1 Episode 3

That may be difficult when she has Larry, but there will be a job out there for her that will work with her hectic schedule. Something tells me she's in no rush to return to working for Ally anytime soon.

Even though Austin is away at college, things were awkward enough with Ally thinking they were both lesbians the last time they met. Did anyone else notice that Bridgette was purposefully trying to get the landlord's son high to get him to forget about why he visited her apartment in the first place?

Bridgette may make some of the worst decisions, but she is not a silly person. She knows very well when she needs to get something done, and she tried to get away with not paying her rent.

I loved all of the stuff with the vision board. Even though Nelson would like everyone to believe her life is perfect, seeing her in the workplace was heartbreaking because of the interview.

The way he chatted with her during the interview meant he saw her as nothing more than an object, and Nelson picked up on it. You could tell it wasn't the first time this happened, and it probably won't be the last.

I wish we'd seen her get some revenge on the man, but lashing out at him while the cameras were rolling would've likely signaled the end of her career.

"HALF A SHEET CAKE & A BLUE-RASPBERRY SLUSHIE" was another solid episode of this Showtime comedy series. The show has found its footing, and I cannot wait to see what topics get tackled next.
