The Conner's are back, and it's insane how much we've all missed them!

On Roseanne Season 10 Episode 1, we jumped right into things by joking about Dan wondering why everyone always thinks he is dead. It's certainly one way we can all ignore the final season of the original run of the series.

The first thing which will be highly discussed is the political leanings of Roseanne. The episode made no qualms about the Conner's voting for President Trump. The only thing which confused me was why so many people were surprised by the character voting for Trump.

As someone who was raised in the mid-west by a hard working family who struggled, the Republican tendencies weren't at all shocking. Roseanne even made a case for herself within the episode by stating things weren't going well for the family, and they almost lost the house.

It's been no secret Trump's campaign was talking directly to the middle-class American family which is exactly what the Conner family is. Thankfully, the politics of the episode were used for wonderful jokes and punch lines as it's revealed Jackie voted for the other guy; though it wasn't the person you thought it was going to be.

Who else started cracking up when it was revealed Jackie voted for Jill Stein even though she didn't know who she was? Jackie has always been influenced by Rosanne, and I figured Rosanne would have made her question herself when it came to who she was voting for.

Of course, we all know Jack and Rosanne couldn't stay mad at each other forever. The whole apology was complete perfection. There was no way Roseanne was going to apologize, but at least Jackie knew how difficult it would be for her to forgive her. You gotta appreciate the sisterly love.

It was also wonderful having Jackie speak up for Becky when it came to the surrogacy thing. Do I think Becky should be a surrogate? Of course not, but it's an interesting storyline to throw Becky into.

Speaking of Becky, I may be the only one who liked how they touched on Mark passing away. We didn't need a long explanation of what exactly happened to Mark right off the bat, but I am hoping we get a little more backstory on what exactly happened to him.

It's clear Becky is still grieving for her husband by making the wildly impulsive decision to become a surrogate. I actually found myself agreeing with Rossane and Dan about Becky donating her own egg to the surrogate.

While I understood the money is really great and it would help her pay off her debt, it's clear she hasn't thought it through completely. Hopefully, the family will be able to persuade her to sit down before making such a huge decision which will alter her life.

The only complaint I have about Becky is how dumb they are playing her. While Becky has always been impulsive, I never really felt she was dumb. Fingers crossed they show a different side to Becky because I'm not sure I can deal with an dumb Becky for the entire season.

Was anyone else thrilled to see Darlene hasn't really changed? I've always hated when characters become parents and they change their ways completely, but Darlene still has the fiery wit and great one-liners she's always had.

It was terrific seeing Darlene as a parent to both Harris and Mark. It's clear she's a bit softer when it comes to her son considering he's still trying to figure out who he is. I do hope down the road Dan can understand his grandson a little more.

Of course, we all knew Harris would end up turning into another version of Darlene, right? I was actually rather pleased with them writing Harris as a close replica of her mother. It wouldn't make sense having Darlene's daughter not give her the same grief she gave her own parents.

Harris: This is so unfair! You're ruining my life. You all suck!

This was a rather solid first episode reboot, as far as reboots go. They're not shying away from the politics, but they also aren't making it the main focus of the Conner family. It's still clear, even with the differences, the family will always stick together.

Thankfully we didn't have to wait long and got to jump right into Roseanne Season 10 Episode 2 right away. The pace of the episode was certainly way different from the first – which was a pleasant surprise.

I enjoyed the episode basically revolving around Darlene's son, Mark, going to his first day of school.

Dan did bring up some great points about Mark's choice of clothes; living in the mid-west, it really is seen as controversial to wear more feminine clothing, but it was cool seeing Darlene stand her ground.

As long as Mark is happy with who he is, why should it matter what other people think?

Darlene is raising her children to believe in themselves, and to be comfortable in their own skin. While I understood Dan's issues, as long as Mark's happy, why should anything else matter?

I did find myself enjoying the scenes between Mark and Roseanne. It showed Roseanne isn't judging her grandson by his choices but wanted to understand why he wanted to dress more feminine. To him, it was comfortable in his own skin.

It was pretty hilarious seeing Roseanne address the kids at school regarding Mark. I probably would have felt the same way as her – she wanted to protect her grandson from the bullies. The whole white witch thing was incredibly comical.

I think you guys are really gonna like Mark cause he is a lot of fun, and he's very fashionable. Sometimes he wants to wear a dress or a real fancy top. I think he's gonna grow up, and be a fashion designer, a really famous one like TJ Maxx or the Ross guy. So I'm counting on you guys to make the new kid feel welcome, and if you don't I have ways of finding out about it. I'm a white witch.

I wasn't entirely surprised to learn Dan gave Mark a knife. I didn't feel as though he gave Mark the knife to protect himself, but more so because he had given a knife to Darlene when she was Mark's age.

Did Dan have ulterior motives? Probably, but at least Darlene let him know, in no uncertain terms, times have certainly changed regarding knives being brought to school.

Speaking of Dan, I was pleased with him stating he doesn't have a narrow mind. I've never felt as though Dan would be against his grandson expressing himself, but I certainly understood where he was coming from.

Unfortunately, not everyone in the world has an opened mind, and by letting Mark express himself it definitely opens the gates up to being bullied, and a lot of judgement. It was made clear Dan cares about his grandson, and doesn't want to see him get hurt.

Moving on to the Becky storyline – I'm still not entirely on board with the whole surrogacy thing. I know I've said it already, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense why Becky would want to go through all of this.

The great thing to come from this whole surrogacy storyline is having Sarah Chalke, who played Becky at one time, back on the series. It's certainly an inventive way to bring both actresses together, but I still felt like they could have come up with something a little better.

I know, I know, Becky needs the money, but there could have been a better way for her to come up with the money to get out of debt. Why couldn't she try to go back to school, while also working at the restaurant?

They could have easily added Sarah Chalke in as Becky's boss, or even a professor. I'm still conflicted about this entire storyline.

All in all, this was an overall very successful hour for Roseanne.

They brought the nostalgia back with episode one, but continued on with a sold storyline going into episode two. Are there certain things I'm not completely on board with? Of course there are, but I feel like with any reboot, it's bound to happen.
