TV Ratings Report: Station 19 Has Weak Debut

at .

It was the battle of the firefighter dramas on Thursday night as Chicago Fire aired a double episode opposite the highly anticipated series premiere of new Grey's Anatomy spinoff, Station 19.

Andrea and Jack in hospital - Station 19 Season 1 Episode 1

Chicago Fire won the battle in total viewers, securing 6.8 million viewers and a 1.2 rating across the two hours, while Station 19 mustered 5.4 million viewers and a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49. The show did skew young, so that's always a positive.

The numbers for Station 19 are especially disappointing when you consider the aggressive marketing campaign and the fact that it slipped considerably out of Grey's Anatomy (7.5 million/1.9 rating).

Superstore

Elsewhere on NBC, Superstore (3.9 million/1.1 rating) gained a tenth, while A.P. Bio (2.9 million/0.7 rating) lost one.

Fox: Gotham (2.4 million/0.7 rating) recovered a tenth, while Showtime at the Apollo (2.4 million/0.6 rating) was steady.

CBS: It was two NCAA Championship Games (7.9 million/2.3 rating & 8.2 million/2.5 rating) on the eye network.
