BBC America knows a hit when it sees one.

The cable network has pulled the trigger on a second season of Killing Eve before the series even premieres.

The thriller stars Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy) as Eve, the person tasked with tracking down the elusive and deadly Villanelle (played by The White Princess' Jodie Comer.)

Both women go to extreme measures to get the upper hand on other and it leads to a chase through several countries as neither one of them stays in the one place for much time.

The series is based on novellas by Luke Jennings. It's unclear how many of the four novellas are covered on Killing Eve Season 1, but we will have more clarity when the series debuts.

“This show has the thunder of women on both sides of the chase in Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer and, importantly, behind the camera with the lavishly brilliant Phoebe Waller-Bridge,” said BBC America president Sarah Barnett.

“The early response to ‘Killing Eve’ has been incredible — for that reason, as well as the fact that we wholeheartedly love this original, funny, thrillingly entertaining series, we are delighted to move ahead with a second season before we even premiere.”

There has been a lot of intrigue for the series ever since it was announced, and that's in large part down to the cast. Both Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer are two of the best actors around.

The series debuts Sunday, April 8 on BBC America. Be sure to return to TV Fanatic for a full review right after.
