Camille needs to confront the past so she can move on with her life. 

Sharp Objects Season 1 Episode 3 was such an information dump that it was difficult to keep up with everything. 

The whole treatment facility storyline made for a harrowing watch.

Well, we're not entirely sure it was a figment of Camille's imagination as a means to try and come to terms with everything that's going on or if we were watching what happened to her in there. 

The beauty of this show is that it's a trip like no other. Rather than witnessing how Camille reacts to her past, we see it play out in front of our very eyes. 

It further backs up the fact that she had a horrifying upbringing in Wind Gap, and as a result, she's self-medicating with alcohol and mutilating herself.

Camille's statement about not wearing a skirt since college confirms that she's been cutting herself for many years and that there was a point she did not give a damn about where on her body she was cutting. 

It also means that her college years could have been her most difficult. Without knowing the facts, it's difficult to make an assumption. We're now three episodes in, and it's getting tedious trying to make sense of what is fact and what is fiction. 

The phone call with Curry was especially worrying. He refrained from saying her first piece on the murder was great. Instead, he called it average. 

Curry knows that Camille is hurting and that he's put her in an awkward position by sending her to her hometown. Then again, maybe he's assigned her the case because he feels it will be therapeutic for her to battle her demons. 

Still, his wording was off. You would think that him knowing that she's hurting, he would have given her more praise for her work. 

But that could also mean that what we know about Curry is not all factual. We're witnessing much of the story from Camille's perspective. 

As for Ashley Wheeler, it became apparent that all she cares about is keeping up appearances and making sure everyone thinks her life is perfect ... in a similar way to Adora. 

That's what happens when you live in a town in which you cannot walk around without anybody knowing everything about you. 

John was open and honest with Camille. There was nothing about him that implied he was lying. He's an emotional young man who seems to wear his heart on his chest. 

It made sense that Ashley wanted him to lie because she did not want everyone to think that he was a killer. If John is hauled in for questioning, word around town will be that he's a killer.

There's no repairing your reputation after you've been wrongfully accused. However, I got the sense that Ashley puts on a nice exterior for everyone, but that she's not so nice behind closed doors. 

She was overbearing during John's chat with Camille. She was like a producer on a reality TV show who wanted to steer the conversation in a direction she knew would be positive. 

It was almost as if it was well-rehearsed, and that suggests she could be hiding something.

Back at the scariest home in the history of TV, Amma is a cause for concern. She's drinking, lashing out and just generally struggling to live her life without worry. 

This could be the start of her turning into Camille, and the way Camille acts makes me think that she sees that her half-sister is starting to fall apart. 

Amma resents Camille for skipping town. Nobody in Wind Gap is happy, so Amma is probably under the impression that if she gets out of dodge, she can be happy.

But Camille is an example of unhappiness, someone who cannot seem to get by without drinking. We've barely peeled back the layers, but there has to be something more going on in that house. 

Amma is being coddled because Adora is worried that she might die like Marian wind up hating herself like Camille. 

I wasn't sold on Richard and Camille getting so close. While their friendship could be mutually beneficial to share details of the suspects, I don't see anything good coming from more than that. 

Amma is likely going to tell Adora about Camille getting close to Richard if gets in trouble for going out during the curfew again. 

I do not want to be a fly on the wall when that conversation happens.
