New Amsterdam Scores Full Season Order at NBC

The future is bright for New Amsterdam.

NBC has pulled the trigger on a full season order for the freshman medical drama, placing an order for nine additional installments.

This marks the first full season order of the fall season, and it's hardly a surprise. New Amsterdam Season 1 has been a decent performer ever since it premiered on Tuesday, September 25.

New Amsterdam Season 1 Episode 1 scored a 1.8 rating in the 10/9c slot for the network. In week two it slipped to a 1.5 rating, but last night's installment held up well against the increased competition.

New Amsterdam Season 1 Episode 3 had a 1.4 rating. The show has proven to be a force in delayed viewing with its premiere swelling to a 3.2 rating in the demo with seven days of DVR factored in.

The series follows Dr. Max Goodwin, the new medical director of one of the country's oldest hospitals, who decides to make some changes to the way the healthcare system works.

It stars Ryan Eggold, Janet Montgomery, Freema Agyeman, Jocko Sims, Tyler Labine, and Anupam Kher.

As for fellow freshman series, Manifest and I Feel Bad; there's no word on what will become of them.

Manifest was NBC's most-watched series debut in 19 years in live+7 ratings. Its premiere ratings swelled to 18.4 million viewers and a 4.2 rating.

However, its linear ratings have fallen somewhat in recent weeks with Monday's episode logging a 1.6 rating.

It is very likely to get a back order, but the network is probably trying to narrow down how many episodes to order.

The future is not as bright for I Feel Bad. It's most recent episode secured a 0.7 rating. If it stays around those levels, it's unlikely to continue.
