TV Ratings Report: Golden Globes Rise
Paul Dailly at .The ratings are in for Sunday's 76th annual Golden Globes, and there's some good news.
The three-hour telecast secured 15.7 million total viewers and a 4.5 rating among adults 18-49.
In live + same day figures, these numbers are up three-tenths vs. 2018's 4.2 rating.
That telecast went on to rise in the final ratings to a 5.0 in the demo. Live TV is much more likely to change in the finals, but for now, this is a positive turnout.
Elsewhere, God Friended Me (7.2 million/0.9 rating), NCIS: Los Angeles (7.5 million/0.9 rating), and Madam Secretary (5.5 million/0.6 rating) were all in line with their December ratings.
Meanwhile, Fox's rotation of The Simpsons (2.4 million/0.9 rating), Bob's Burgers (2.3 million/0.9 rating), Family Guy (2.4 million/1.0 rating) and REL (1.2 million/0.5 rating) were all affected by the increased competition.
America's Funniest Home Videos (4.8 million/0.9 rating) helped Shark Tank (3.7 million/0.9 rating) hit a season high in the demo at ABC.
