I would hate to be Supergirl right now.

After Lex Luthor's little stunt, President Baker declared Supergirl public enemy number one on Supergirl Season 4 Episode 17.

We were clued into what he was planning with the Red Daughter on Supergirl Season 4 Episode 16. We knew she was going to pose as Supergirl and destroy her image in public, and yet, when it happened, it was so difficult to watch.

The real Supergirl would never attack the White House along with so many innocent people.

So, while her name is being smeared through the mud, her real followers know the truth.

Supergirl found Lena and Alex ready to bring down the person who framed her.

Obviously, the 'who' in this situation isn't going to be difficult to figure out.

Lillian Luthor: I know you're upset Lex outsmarted you. He hurt your poor little heart.
Lena Luthor: Well, at least I have a heart.

As Supergirl, Lena and Alex formed their own super squad to learn all they could about the traitor, Eve Tessmacher, they realized that Lex's hand was in more pots than they initially imagined.

Lex wasn't just connected to the Red Daughter or shooting James, he was also behind Ben Lockwood's rise to glory.

Lex is good. In fact, he's so good that Lockwood didn't even know he was being used as a pawn. Doesn't feel good, right?

Honestly, kudos to the writers for merging several plotlines into one giant one that actually worked. I love it when a plan comes together, even if it is one crafted by an evil villain.

The hunt for Eve led to an all-female supergroup that's one of the best on television.

I could watch a whole spinoff about Lena, Alex and Supergirl going on missions and taking down bad guys.

In a hilarious twist, the two that believe Supergirl is innocent are also the two that don't actually know her true identity.

But now that Supergirl should probably lay low and avoid rocking her suit, does that mean Lena and Alex will figure out who she is?

Or will she have to come clean to them about her identity? It's about time Lena found out the truth.

While the Red Daughter was attacking the White House, I was worried that Alex would turn her back on Supergirl because she didn't see the Kara connection like others did.

But Alex recognizes good. She spent enough time with Supergirl to notice that she always meant well, cared about planet Earth and it's people, and would save even those who aren't deserving of her kindness.

It probably helps that Supergirl apologized for scrutinizing Lena for using the Harun-El and acknowledged that while it had the potential for evil, it's also done a lot of good like saving James.

Seeing Supergirl vulnerable allowed her to see the person behind the cape, even if she doesn't know her true identity.

It's a tall order for Supergirl to allow something that could destroy her to exist as she tries to live up to Superman's legacy and simultaneously not disappoint the world by letting his archnemesis win.

Even Colonel Haley who has been pretty anti-Supergirl since the start was skeptical of the government and knew Supergirl wasn't capable of such destruction.

I mean, the Girl of Steel came bearing donuts as a peace offering. That doesn't exactly scream "crazed murderer."

Will the Red Daughter eventually realize that she's in the wrong when she sees how many people are supporting Supergirl because they know the true nature of her character?

However, the niceties will probably come to an end when Supergirl and the others realize Lena was working side-by-side with her wicked brother to finishing the serum.

She naively trusted her brother, gave him superpowers, and helped him carry out his deranged plan.

There's nothing wrong with Lena creating a weapon that helps the humans protect themselves, but there should have been something in place that prevented it from getting in the wrong hands.

Instead, she almost spoon fed it to Lex Luthor!

Lena's reaction to finding out that Eve was in love with Lex was exactly as I'd imagined.

Even better was the fact that Eve's password protecting all of her research and experiments on Metallo was 'I love Lex.'

You'd think the people that are capable of creating superhumans would be more aware of the importance of a strong password.

Lena has a tendency to trust people who shouldn't be trusted.

After being outsmarted by her own brother, Lena still enlisted her mother's help. Sure, Lillian probably knows a lot more than she's letting on, but how can they trust anything she says?

How can Lena know she isn't walking into yet another one of Lex's plans?

Family drama carried over to James Olsen who was dealing with the return of his sister, Kelly.

She wanted him to admit that he was suffering from PTSD and get help, but he insisted he was fine when we all knew he wasn't.

James, it's okay to get help.

How could you now be suffering from PTSD after almost being killed by Lex for the eighth time?

I do see red sometimes, and it's not an ego thing or allegiance, or anything like that. I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders. And since Superman left, and Lex has been free, it feels a lot heavier. If my enemies are strengthened, if I'm weakened in the slightest, I could lose. And I just can't ... I can't lose.

As seeing as Lex has attempted this eight times, why was it a surprise to James that his personal assistant, Eve, was behind the shooting?

Eventually, witnessing the Red Daughter's attack triggered symptoms, and James asked Kelly to stick around and help him cope.

All of this was basically a plot device to insert Kelly into the main cast.

I don't mind considering Supergirl always does a fair job at utilizing their extensive cast, but I do hope they give her something compelling to do other than look out for her brother.

Still, it's important James gets back to optimal health because after what the Red Daughter pulled, Supergirl is going to need all the help she can get.

Also, where were James' powers?

Were his PTSD symptoms a manifestation of those powers?

Everyone who has taken Lena's cure, Lex and even Eve's cousin, Bitsie, have experienced superpowers.

Is James just unaware? Why wouldn't he be experiencing any superhuman strength?

I was also surprised that James didn't go pay Lena a visit after she was attacked by her own brother especially since Lena went out of her way to save his life.

How is it that she risked her life to help him yet he couldn't even check in on her?

J'onn's identity crisis storyline needs to end.

And hopefully, now that he's finally figured out who he is, we can all move on and go back to the J'onn we've always admired.

Though, I will say that seeing him trip his late father to find the answer was entertaining simply because got to see M'yrnn pronounce coffee as 'c'offee' again.

I also love that the storyline proved that no matter if you're a human or an alien, and no matter how old you are, you can always use some advice from dad.

My fellow Americans, by now you have surely heard that the heart of our great nation was attacked by someone many of you trusted with your security and your hopes. Supergirl. She attacked in retaliation to the Alien Amnesty Act, ignoring our democracy in favor of her own alien brute form of justice. The American people have welcomed these aliens, they've repaid our hospitality with violence. But we are not weak, we are Americans. We are humans. I am hereby enacting martial law for our protection. And, Supergirl, if you are watching, make no mistake, this act of horrific terrorism will not go unanswered. You are now public enemy number one.

While his decision to bury the Sacred Scrolls on Mars was admirable, his timing flat out sucked.

I mean, could he not check the news before hopping in his little spaceship coupe?

If he had, he probably would have seen that his newfound identity could have been used to help Supergirl figure a way out of this damn mess.

Speaking of messes ... that's a word I'd use to describe the first half of this season, but now that all the pieces are falling into place and we're seeing that it's actually been a long game by Lex Luthor, the series is beginning to take it's shape again.

The writers are finally returning to a formula that works and entertains, even if it puts Supergirl in peril briefly.

I've gotta say, these last three episodes have been pretty excellent.

And the best scene goes out to Red Daughter and Eve!

If you watch Supergirl online, it's hard to imagine Eve could possibly pull off all that she has when she spoke to the Red Daughter as if she were stupids.

The Red Daughter quipped back that her English was better than Eve's, and Eve couldn't even deny it. Hilarious.
