Here is a wrap up of all the news you need to know from July 11, 2019. 

We have the fate of Euphoria, new roles for some TV Fanatic favorites, and more.

First up, Jane the Virgin may be ending, but series star Gina Rodriguez has already lined up her return to the small screen. 

The actress will play the President of the United States in Diary of Female President, one of the many shows in the works at Disney+.

The series will follow Elena, a 12-year-old, Cuban-American girl as she comes to grips with the ups and downs of middle school while dreaming of becoming the future POTUS. 

This story will be told in narration form, with flashforwards confirming she did, indeed, become the most powerful woman in America. 

The First Meeting - Euphoria Season 1 Episode 4

Elsewhere, HBO has revealed that Euphoria will return for a second season. 

The Zendaya-fronted teen drama has been a critical and ratings success since it launched last month. 

“Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has built an incredible world with an extraordinary cast led by the supremely talented Zendaya. We are so grateful that he chose HBO as the home for this groundbreaking series,” HBO’s executive vice-president of programming Francesca Orsi said in a statement. 

“We look forward to following these complex characters as their journeys continue through the challenging world they inhabit.”

Making a Decision - Euphoria Season 1 Episode 4

Euphoria follows Rue, a young drug addict, who is trying to confront her feelings for her new best friend, as well as trying to remain clean. 

The series focuses on all of the teenagers in her orbit.

The series recently logged series highs, meaning that a renewal was highly likely. 

Elsewhere, Courteney Cox is returning the small screen. The beloved Friends star will star in, and executive produce a scripted adaptation of the Netflix docuseries Last Chance U.

Deadline is reporting that Cox will play a character named Brittany Wagner, an academic advisor at East Mississippi Community College. 

The aim of her game is to make sure all of the players graduate on time and reach their full potential.

HBO has dropped a new trailer for Succession Season 2, which is slated to debut Sunday, August 11.
