Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10 Review: Lo Que Más Temes

at .

What Teresa feared the most came to pass on Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10.

I can't imagine what comes next.

Since the moment Brenda was killed, protecting Tony has been one of Teresa's top priorities, which is why I couldn't understand why she kept him in New Orleans.

Someone is Stealing - Tall - Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10

If her enemies were able to track him down at the boarding school in Texas, wouldn't keeping him with her in New Orleans make him even more of a target?

But it's difficult to send someone you love away, especially when you know they're hurting.

When Tony began talking about applying to art school, Teresa was thrilled.

Pote: If he doesn’t get into the school with his grades we can always buy a building like all those rich, white parents do.
Teresa: He’ll get in on his own.

Planning For The Future - Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10

It was almost as sweet a moment as when she and Pote were giving Tony driving lessons and coaching him through parallel parking.

For a brief moment, they felt like a normal family.

As soon as Teresa gave Tony the Range Rover, I knew what was coming, but hoped against hope that I was wrong.

I wasn't.

This death will devastate Teresa, Pote, and Kelly Anne, but the bigger question is, who planted the bomb?

LaFayette Demands More - Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10

The bomb was more than likely meant for Teresa, not Tony, as she had only just given him the vehicle, and that leaves plenty of suspects.

LaFayette might look upon Teresa with disdain and suspect that she's behind Rene's death, but she's still his cash cow.

If she was able to come up with $30 million in cash in under 72 hours, the judge must be imagining with how much more she can line his pockets.

El Gordo could have had the explosive device planted before his death. He swore he'd kill Teresa after Ishmael's death, but his deep connection to the assassin has never been explained.

Dieter could have been angry about being set up and outed. I would think he'd be more fearful about his Ponzi scheme coming to light with his other clients over getting his revenge, but he certainly could have hired someone to plant the bomb.

Boaz Pays a Visit - Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 3

Even Boaz has considered taking Teresa out. He'd like to take control of the business and he's hurting over Emlilia's disappearance.

And that's not even counting Camila and/or Isabela Vargas, who we haven't yet seen during Queen of the South Season 4 but must be out there somewhere, most likely plotting their revenge against Teresa.

In which direction will Teresa channel her rage? That's unclear, but someone will pay for killing her Godson.

Handling an Adversary - Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10

Even before that horrible final scene, there was plenty of drama.

Oksana: Scorched earth won’t fill our pockets.
Teresa: And give him another chance to kill me?
Oksana: You found a bloodless solution to the Cheo problem, I’m sure we can do the same for Raoul.

Perhaps Teresa would have tried to broker a peace with El Gordo with Oksana as a mediator, but Raoul wanted no part of it. His need for violence and revenge was like a switch getting flipped, and there was no way to turn it off.

Not even his long time colleague could convince him to be more rational.

She might think she’s in love with Teresa right now but Oksana will come to her senses and agree to putting Mendoza in the ground, and if she doesn’t, she can die too.

Gordo

When El Gordo murdered Marcel's men, the dye was cast. Marcel was going to kill El Gordo, and Teresa was going to back him. The only wild card was on which side Oksana would fall.

Trying To Broker Peace - Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10

Being smart and far less bloodthirsty than her associate, Oksana admitted that Raoul was a liability.

The best thing about this scene was how Marcel didn't wait for El Gordo to make some lengthy speech before he died, he just put a bullet in the man's head and got it over with.

As Raoul was always an arrogant, blow-hard, I was grateful.

Looking For Revenge - Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10

The one person who was having a good day was Kelly Anne.

She was thrilled to feel useful, and I'm not sure anything could have made her happier than Teresa accepting her help.

Pote: Kelly Anne, you know this is dangerous.
Kelly Anne: I know. She needs me. I’m either in this family or I’m not.

As soon as Dieter asked Kelly Anne in which hotels the money was stashed, it became obvious he was testing her.

She didn't need to answer; she could have told him she'd share those details after this first transaction had been successful, but Kelly Anne was so determined to assist Teresa with this scheme that she took it a step too far.

Bad News - Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10

Teresa and Kelly Anne fighting Dieter reminded me of when Kelly Anne killed her abusive husband to save Teresa.

Ah, good times.

Kelly Anne was overjoyed when Teresa asked her to manage her money and help vet the others who would do so. Being accepted back into Teresa's family has been all Kelly Anne has wanted.

Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 9 Review: Los Pecados de los Padres

Yet, some nagging feeling has me wondering if she's still working for the Feds. Of course, I've feared that about Eddie and Birdie too.

Because in Teresa's line of work, you can't trust anyone.

A Plan Gone Awry - Queen of the South Season 4 Episode 10

No doubt, Tony's death will shake Teresa, Pote, Kelly Anne, and the entire crew to its very core.

What comes next is anyone's guess but it's clear that nothing will ever be the same in New Orleans.

Louisiana is the prison capital of the world, and just look where the wind is blowing. Our correctional facilities are overcrowded, detention centers on the southern border are swarming with illegals, and the overflow is coming our way.
