Kiefer Sutherland to Star in Quibi's The Fugitive Adaptation

Kiefer Sutherland has lined up his next TV role, months after the cancellation Designated Survivor. 

He is attached to star in an updated iteration The Fugitive for Quibi, the forthcoming short form streaming platform that will only be available on mobile devices. 

Additionally, Boyd Holbrook has landed a lead role.

The series centers on Mike Ferro, who wants to make sure his family is safe when a bomb rocks the subway train he's riding on, according to The Hollywood Reporter

However, Mike is the one who is put in the frame for the crime. There's an immediate manhunt for him, and thanks to the power of social media, he finds himself hunted for the crime.

Mike understands that there is a faint chance that he can prove he was not the one to carry out the attack, so he goes on the run to find the real perpetrator before the net closes in around him.

Mike's family also struggle to make sense of the news, but will they side with the person they know and love?

Sutherland is on board as Detective Clay Bryce, the man running the operation to find Mike and take him down.

The Fugitive is written and executive produced by Nick Santora (Prison Break). The series will be directed by Stephen Hopkins, who will be reuniting with Sutherland. 

The Emmy winning director previously directed episodes of 24.

Sutherland was most recently part of the cast of Designated Survivor, which was canceled for the second time in July. 

The Fugitive is one of many series in the works for Quibi. The service is slated to launch in April 2020 and will offer series in 8 to 10-minute chapters. 

It is said to cost $4.99 with ads every month or $8 without ads. 

The Fugitive is slated to begin production in October.
