Here's Your First Look at the Third Walking Dead Series

at .

Ever since a third series set in The Walking Dead universe was announced, there's been a lack of details about it.

The show is already in production, but we don't even have a title.

Thankfully, AMC dropped a batch of photos ahead of the show's debut at New York Comic-Con on Thursday.

Making a Plan to Survive

Already, it's clear the show is a departure from parent series The Walking Dead and first spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead.

The cast is younger, and it certainly drives home the fact that we'll be following a bunch of characters who grew up in the apocalypse.

Fashionable Post-Apocalyptic Duo

AMC placed an order for this new series back in April.

It comes from Scott M. Gimple and longtime writer Matt Negrete and “feature two young female protagonists and focuses on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it."

"Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.”

It's certainly a different direction to take things, but it remains to be seen whether viewers will want to watch what sounds like a teen drama set in the same universe as the other series.

Hiding from the Forces of Evil

The cast for the new series includes Annet Mahendru, Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu, Nico Tortorella, and Hal Cumpston.

It's becoming more apparent than ever that AMC is all about keeping the franchise alive for years. This being the third series, it makes sense that some viewers will have fatigue, but the cabler believes the franchise can continue to expand.

That's also why a trilogy of movies fronted by former TWD star Andrew Lincoln are in the works. These movies will be making their way to the big screen.

Green Walkers

"Showing audiences an unseen pocket of The Walking Dead universe steeped in a new mythology is a very cool way to celebrate a ‘Decade of the Dead’ on TV and over 15 years of Robert Kirkman’s brilliant comic,” said Gimple in a statement in April.

“Matt Negrete is one of the best writer-producers in TWD’s long history — I’m thrilled to be working beside him to tell stories unlike we’ve seen before, taking our first step into an even larger world.”

“We’re thrilled that the Dead will keep walking into a new corner of the post-apocalyptic world, a corner that will present stories and characters unlike any that The Walking Dead has dramatized thus far, and that is bound to excite one of the most passionate fanbases in television,” said David Madden, AMC’s head of programming at the time of the order.

Fighting for Safety

Hollywood has become well-known for relying on established brands to launch new content, and given the way fans have reacted to the way Fear the Walking Dead has been handled over the past two years, getting them hooked on a new series is going to be a tough sell.

Without viewing any actual footage from this new series, it's difficult to make an assessment.

What about you, The Walking Dead Fanatics? Will you give this new series a shot or you over the franchise?

You just haven't been tested ... but you're about to be.

Mel

Ali: I'm ready.
Howard: I admire your ambition. I know Victor does, too. But everyone has got to start somewhere. To that end.
Ali: Another one?
Howard: No, this is not just any butterfly. This is the Mourning Cloak. Extremely rare. Live for about a year. And Victor has got the perfect spot for it on the shelf. All you've got to do is find one.
