Revenge Sequel Eyed at ABC

ABC is not done with Revenge after all.
Deadline is reporting that the broadcast network is developing a reboot of the hit 2011-15 TV series.
This new take comes from the original series creator and Executive Producer Mike Kelley, and writer-producer Joe Fazzio.
Both Kelley and Fazzio pen the pilot. It features the story of a young Latinx immigrant who arrives in Malibu to dole out some revenge on a "Sackler-Esque pharmaceutical dynasty, whose insatiable greed lead to the murder of her biochemist mother, the destruction of her family, and a global epidemic."
What's intriguing is that a beloved character from the original series is staging a comeback to guide this young woman on her pathway to exact revenge.

As for which character that is, we don't know yet. Given that there were rumblings that a spin-off series featuring Gabriel Mann's Nolan Ross, then it means that he is the likely candidate to help this new character on her revenge plan.
If you watched Revenge online, you know he was the one at Amanda Clarke's side throughout all the trials and tribulations she faced while trying to take down Victoria Grayson and other sketchy figures.
The original revenge was led by Emily VanCamp and Madeleine Stowe and lasted four seasons. It focused on Amanda Clarke arriving in the Hamptons under the alias of Emily Thorne, a young woman who immersed herself in the Grayson family to avenge her father.

As the series progressed, there were some downright crazy plot twists, and by the time the show concluded, its ratings were low.
But given that ratings as a whole have been trending downwards for years, it's not surprising networks are looking to established IPs to launch new shows.
This reboot is in the very early stages of development, so it's possible that it will not become a full-fledged series, but still, it will be one of the higher-profile shows on ABC's development slate.
The OG show had a large following across the globe, so there's that.
