Bio
John Black is a character on Days of Our Lives that has been played by actor Drake Hogestyn since 1986.
In 1986, Hogestyn started playing Roman Brady on Days of Our Lives. But in 1991, Days of Our Lives producers wanted to bring back Wayne Northrop, the actor who originally played Roman Brady, and needed to find a way to keep the popular Hogestyn on the show as well.
Therefore, a new storyline was written - that Stefano DiMera brainwashed "Roman" into thinking he was Roman... when he was actually born Forrest Alamain, but had always gone by John Black.
