Maya Herrera was on the run from Mexico with her brother. The reason? Well, she accidentally killed his entire wedding party. Her dangerous power involved black tears that fall upon anger. These tears kill those around her.
After escaping from Mexico, Maya grew close to Sylar. She was unaware of his intentions, and certainly unaware that he ends up murdering her beloved brother.

Maya is my most favorite Heroes character. Out of all of my previous faves, only she, Alice and Monica have not been killed off.
I screamed at the TV in season 2's "Powerless" when Sylar shot her. I was so pissed. But, I am glad that she got the healing blood and a second chance in life.
Maya was awesome and many fans never got to even hear about what was planned for her.
Had season 2 not been cut short by the writer's strike, Peter was to drop the vial containing the virus. Maya was to have found a way to take the virus into herself thus..........are you ready?..........SHE WOULD HAVE SAVED THE WORLD!!!!!! YAY! (Damned writer's strike....)
