@Terrie I agree with you on Louis Gossett Jr. While it is a testament to the show, that they could get a celebrated actor like him to sign on for just one episode, I felt like he should have been given more time. The story of how Oscar saved Chalky and his involvement with the Commodore back in the day, was rushed. Chalky can tell a story well, if you recall the scene years ago with his "daddy's tools."
@Terrie thanks for having my back and for the comments as usual. I actually do get paid to do this which is a treat. I do appreciate the others (Kim, Alex, LFord) for pointing out my errors, I went back and fixed them. I do my best to proofread, but with so much to discuss I do miss things now and again. BTW Alex, it's Chalky not "Chalkey." While I love any and all feedback, it is disappointing when people comment only to point out a typo and offer up no opinions of their own about the episodes. Hearing your thoughts and reactions to the show are what makes this fun.
We keep hearing mention of Masseria. Narcisse wants to meet him, he is involved with Tampa now and Lucky broke off ties with Meyer because of him. I think NY and AC are going to tango before the season is up, or the table will be set at least, for some sort of East Coast clash next season. As for who is going to end up dead, I think they are setting up Gillian like I mentioned in the review. Also Eli's issue with Knox is so that he really doesn't have a way out other than himself dying. Willie is home now, I could see Eli being killed off and Willie having to go to work with Nucky to provide for the family. Then again Nucky could always just help pay the bills. Torrio also might meet his demise to pave the way for Al to really get things going next season.
@Lea thanks for pointing out the typo in the quote. I went back and fixed it. After all "we talkin bout practice," not precipice. Thanks. And yes you guys are right of course, Ted "meets" the mother at the train station but can't there be some interaction with her and other cast mates like she had with Lily? It would sort of be fitting and funny if the last person to meet her was Ted.
Hey @Terrie great to hear from you as always. Interesting thought that Daughter hooking up with Chalky could be part of Narcisse's master plan. I sort of think her dependence on his drugs and the grip he has on her contractually is what is going to force Chalky to do something about his nemesis who he referred to as, just a "not so nice word" with a dictionary. Eli prob will mention something to Nucky about Eddie having two sons, but more importantly I think he will look into the handkerchief discrepancy. I also am not convinced that his suicide said what Knox translated it as. Knox will surely investigate Ralph Capone now off Eddie's tip, which might prove to be Van Alden's undoing if someone recognizes him. Or perhaps Knox enlists Van Alden's help making him a triple agent working for O'Banion, the Capones and the gov't.
@Terrie I hear ya. I too am surprised at the lack of comments. I had thought after Breaking Bad wrapped up, it would pick up. Their loss I guess.
@Terrie I believe she is in Brooklyn. We had our first mention of Teddy last week and Sally sent Nucky the baby gator to give to him for his birthday, so I'm thinking this week we will.
@Richard you are right. I forgot about Arya killing the stable boy, but you have to admit this was different. She was defending herself against the stable boy and it was more of an accident. Her stabbing the soldier in the finale was more cold blooded. And I think you'd agree ordering people killed is different than looking them in the eye as you do it. But again, you are right and she even hinted at it when she answered Sandor that yes it was the first "man" she ever killed. Her latest murder marked a change though didn't it? We saw the first glimpse of what Melisandre saw when she looked into Arya's eyes. A killer through and through.
