Wow great pick up! I missed that. Love how those glasses have become a mainstay for him.
I can see how that is the case at times. I have certainly had to rewind a few scenes to catch what he is saying at times, but such has been the case with numerous shows I've reviewed. Game of Thrones comes to mind, with all the various accents. The music is great though you're right. HBO always seems to have great soundtracks to accompany their series. Looks like the great T Boone Burnett is due some credit for his work on this one.
I understood that. I just thought the sequence of shots was odd. I guess I didn't explain myself well. It went from Lily leaving to flash forward. I just thought it was an odd choice of sequence prob not even worth me mentioning I guess.
I'm pretty sure Chalky was in on the plan to shoot Narcisse. At one point he looked out into the club as if to try and signal Richard. Can you recall the last time Richard missed a shot like that though? Granted it would have hit Narcisse and Richard couldn't see Maybelle being lead into his shot, with his lack of vision. I just thought he deserved a better death than to catch a stray bullet from Narcisse's man. I think next season will def focus more on Capone, Lucky and Meyer. like @ThatGuy420 mentioned, Eli creates a bridge between the two cities like Jimmy did at one time.
@Terrie I agree with you on Louis Gossett Jr. While it is a testament to the show, that they could get a celebrated actor like him to sign on for just one episode, I felt like he should have been given more time. The story of how Oscar saved Chalky and his involvement with the Commodore back in the day, was rushed. Chalky can tell a story well, if you recall the scene years ago with his "daddy's tools."
@Terrie thanks for having my back and for the comments as usual. I actually do get paid to do this which is a treat. I do appreciate the others (Kim, Alex, LFord) for pointing out my errors, I went back and fixed them. I do my best to proofread, but with so much to discuss I do miss things now and again. BTW Alex, it's Chalky not "Chalkey." While I love any and all feedback, it is disappointing when people comment only to point out a typo and offer up no opinions of their own about the episodes. Hearing your thoughts and reactions to the show are what makes this fun.
We keep hearing mention of Masseria. Narcisse wants to meet him, he is involved with Tampa now and Lucky broke off ties with Meyer because of him. I think NY and AC are going to tango before the season is up, or the table will be set at least, for some sort of East Coast clash next season. As for who is going to end up dead, I think they are setting up Gillian like I mentioned in the review. Also Eli's issue with Knox is so that he really doesn't have a way out other than himself dying. Willie is home now, I could see Eli being killed off and Willie having to go to work with Nucky to provide for the family. Then again Nucky could always just help pay the bills. Torrio also might meet his demise to pave the way for Al to really get things going next season.
@Lea thanks for pointing out the typo in the quote. I went back and fixed it. After all "we talkin bout practice," not precipice. Thanks. And yes you guys are right of course, Ted "meets" the mother at the train station but can't there be some interaction with her and other cast mates like she had with Lily? It would sort of be fitting and funny if the last person to meet her was Ted.
