I might be going out on alimb as I don't know how exactly the calculations are made but AFAIK the ratings are more important than the amount of viewers and 1.8 is below CBS's standard & quite low for a series premiere.
1. When Regina let go of Henry. It really showed that she's so much more than just an evil queen who's longing for power.
2. Ruby. I think she will be great help for Charming trying to get Emma & Snow back.
3. I think she can. But it'll take a lot of work.
4. I'm with Christine here. My second reaction after seeing Cora (my first being completely shocked) was whether Snow is going to recognize her when she wakes up.
Some speculations on why Belle was in the episode: Maybe she wanted to explore the forest but left Storybrooke while doing so and lost her memory of being Belle. And considering that her other identity was locked up for the last 28 years she doesn't know where or who she is, so she got lost trying to find a town. That would explain why Rumple wanted to leave and why he was so angry when he found out he would lose his memory when trying to leave Storybrooke. Just a theory, so don't take it too serious.
That was a really great episode and a big KUDOS to the show for creating a villain that isn't just plain evil. We finally witnessed the first time she used magic, the first encounter between her and Rumple, how she escaped from the tyranny of her mother, something I've been longing to know since Season 1.
I always expected Regina to be redeemed but didn't quite think it would happen so soon. I think Henry yelling "I don't wanna become like you" was the trigger that made her realize that history was repeating itself. Everything she said whe she let Henry go was believable and genuine because we know exactly where she was coming from. It's still a long way until she fully redeems herself and I'm really looking forward to it.
I have watched the episode again and gotta say I really am disappointed with the Season so far. I was exited about the flashback episode but this one felt rushed, partially irritating and left so many questions open.
1.) How did the people at SGMW found out about the plane crash?
2.) What exactly caused Mark's death?
3.) First of all, kudos to Sandra Oh for that stellar performance. But I literally said "What the freaking hell" out loud when she was her old self right after the bathtub scene.
4.) This episode doesn't explain Meredith's transformation into Medusa.
I agree with DerekFan.. Lexie's death came in too short.. Like everybody else has already forgotten about her.. I mean we're only 2 episodes into the 9th season so I hope it's gonna happen soon. And I would have really loved if Lexie & Mark would have met in the afterlife similar to the Izzie/George scene in the season 5 finale.
And I also hope that they are going to adress the issue of why the plane crashed in the first place. I think that with all the drama and deaths it has been overlooked by a lot of viewers.
1. I agree with Christine. Her reaction was genuine and authentic. The fact that they are reunited doesn't make it any easier for her because her parents are freaking fairytale characters.
2. I think him being Rumple's son would be too obvious. It definitely is an option but I think it's someone other. Maybe a new villain?
3. To be honest, I didn't think that she would leave him in the premiere. And what I expected even less is that she came back. There's is gonna be A LOT of back and forth with Belle but ultimately Belle will leave because the pain and disappoinments Rumple causes her outweigths her love for him.
4. What Jim said.
5. I wasn't very keen on having Mulan & Captain Hook on the show but I really love the show's version of her. And Captain Hook? Holy. Lord. Have you seen him? I'm so glad he became a series regular.
I had so high hopes for this show but sadly it didn't live up to my expectations. It just feels all over the place right now. And I would have prefered to see the beginning of a deal, like how do people find out about Gavin? How many actually know what/who Gavin is? It just feeled rushed to me. I really hope next week's episode is gonna be better than this.
I still don't get why all these premature children are joining X Factor.. Even if they make it through the auditions.. Most of them will GO DOWN and crumble under the pressure that is put on them during Boot Camp.
I'm so glad that Addison went for Jake. And I just loved the scene where she was just rambling and mumbling nonsense. She obviously is so in love with him.
When I heard Peter wouldn't appear on Season 6 I wasn't even thinking about him being killed off but in typical Shonda fashion that's exactly what happens.. I don't like how his story ended.. Poor Lucas. And poor Violet for having to tell him about what happened.
I don't know how long it's been since the Season 5 finale but I just find it irritating that Sam has moved on so quickly. But I hope that it works out for him this time. Stephanie seems like a great woman.
Charlotte is pregnant with triplets! But my prediction is: At least one of the triplets won't make it through the pregnancy.
I was really hoping that Amelia and Sheldon could be together, but I guess they're just sort of best friends now.
In my opinion Mer & Cristina are getting too much screen time. I get that they are the main characters but so are Derek, Alex, Bailey & Weber. Of course with a big cast like that it is nearly impossible to give everyone equal screen time but focusing on Mer & Cristina so much while for example April & Jackson are being neglected to that extent just doesn't seem right. I'm happy they both are getting a story now but it kind of feels two years too late.
