All excellent questions after what was, indeed, a whirlwind episode full of surprises! I think our intrepid Ems will have Mason Treadwell either killed or sent off somewhere far, far away where he can't do any harm, because she can't afford to have her real identity exposed at this point. And I think she and Aiden should hook up, but I don't think their relationship will last, because her heart will never full give up on Jack Porter. I think the Initiative is going to try and kill both Fauxmanda and Kara, and I was almost sure that Kara was going to toss Victoria over the balcony in that last scene. I believe she has recognized her daughter and is just playing along until she figures out the advantage in the game. And I do believe that Jack and Fauxmanda will marry, but their marriage won't last because Fauxmanda will never be sure if he loves her for her or for her fake identity.
I had a lot of the same questions as the reviewer about this episode, though I did enjoy it, especially the part where Emma talked to the giant about how all humans are not the same. I was also glad to see that Mary Margaret/Snow was not about to go anywhere without her daughter! Good for you!
Though it is becomming darker, I still enjoy the complex stories in OUAT.
I think the actors are top notch.
I totally agree with the review and with Suncatcher's comments, there was, indeed, the perfect balance between comedy and drama/action in this episode, and I was so thrilled that the journalist recognized that he and Zoe Morgan have a thing for each other that can't be denied! There is certainly chemistry there, but then,I thought that Jim C really sizzled with sexy during his date and every other time he encountered the reporter. He knows how to throw out those smoldering sexy looks from that handsome face and those steely eyes...sigh. I think it is rare that a man uses his testosterone for good, and Reese just seems to use all of his powers for good with a casual, natural style that is breathtaking.I also loved that Finch was flirting and texting, while he was also being driven nuts by Bear's squeeky toy! LOL! I love those guys!
I've really enjoyed this series so far, probably because I think Johnny Lee Miller is such a wonderful actor, and Lucy Liu is no slouch, either. But then, I enjoyed Basil Rathbone as Holmes in movies made in the 60s, and I loved Jeremy Brett as Holmes in the 80s, and I can't get enough of Benedict Cumberbatch as the millenial Holmes with his hobbit Watson! That is why I think it is so hard for JLM to really distinguish himself as Holmes when there are so many great actors who have portrayed him previously and are still portraying him today, in Britain. We are fortunate to have an American version of Sherlock Holmes, a very OCD kind of guy who would probably get on your nerves if you were to actually meet and talk to him. But I do love how JLM managed to be funny and fascinating with the case in this episode. His calling Joan to the door was like an irritated parent calling their child to the door to see a playmate, "JOANIE!" he bellows! LOL
To the reviewer, I said exactly the same thing when Kara hugged it out with Victoria, ie "those pruning shears might end up in Kara's back!" That said, I loved this episode, and agree, too, with the reviewer's final statement that wonderful Nolan IS the man! He just rocks every ep, and I think Emily should be ashamed that she wasn't there to help him through his grief when he revealed that his dad passed. I think that Em will find that Aiden isn't as good a revenge partner as Nolan is, because Aiden has his own agenda. I was glad that Em heard her mother apologizing to fauxmanda, and that Em came clean to fauxmanda about her baby daddy. And I hope that Nolan realizes that Padma isn't the gal for him, because she's gone behind his back about David Clarke. And I just have to give props to Madeline Stowe, who slithers and slimes as Victoria...such a psychopath, and yet so fashionable! She scares me in a way that Kara never will, though I was kind of freaked out when Em handed Kara fauxmanda's baby! Yikes!
I agree with the reviewer that it was great to have skeptical, kick-butt Emma back to see through Hook's lies. Good for her! I love watching her and Mulan and the annoying princess finding their way through the magical land together. They're not at all faint of heart and they are bonding and learning more about how to get home and defeat the evil Cora.
I felt only slightly bad for Regina, who didn't have to become evil, she only had to realize that her love was gone, and mourn, which is the mature thing to do. Instead she becomes evil so she can try to find a way to bring him back, even AFTER she was told that it wasn't really possible...what a stupid move from a supposedly smart woman. The fact that she was screwed over by Dr Frankenstein and all the other guys doesn't surprise me, and shouldn't have surprised her...there is no honor among bad guys. BTW, yes, James Whale was the director of the original Frankenstein movie with Boris Karlof.
Niki and Dawn, you both expressed what I was feeling about this episode perfectly! And I could totally "ship" a friendship between Mellie and Olivia, because, as you pointed out, they are two sides of the same coin, both manipulative, just one uses her powers for her own gain, mainly (Mellie) and the other uses her powers for others, (Olivia). I, too, cheered and laughed like Fitz when he noted that two women had just outmaneuvered him, Cyrus, and his staff. Oh, and I love the fact that Cyrus often gets really pithy, honest lines that are delivered with precision and guts by an amazing actor. But I have to say that the group that got together at the end sent chills of foreboding up my spine. I am also worried about Huck's sanity, and as Dawn said, his relationship to 'whiskey' and being off the wagon has become scary. Abby is also scary with her jumping to help David and basically selling out Olivia, her employer. Eeek. This show is fantastic. Excellently written and acted.
I agree with the reviewer and the comments, in that every week POI is like sitting down and watching a masterpiece being made...when TV is good, it is like a work of art, it moves you and makes you feel varying emotions during the course of the narrative. I never cease to be amazed by Jim C's sly-and-dry delivery of Reese's lines, and Finches subtle bon mots inserted where you least expect them are bracing.
Even the villans are nuanced, with Elias showing such glee behind his killer's eyes, that if you didn't know that the man was a mafia don who had many people murdered, you'd think he was just a regular guy, probably a bit more bookish and introverted than some, but the kind of guy who works as a CPA and whom few people notice as he goes by....the quiet neighbor who keeps to himself who pops up in every crime drama. But here, he's a brutal killer who just wants a good game of chess with someone as smart as he is. Enter Finch. I really wish they'd have let us see who won the game!
I loved this episode because there were so many great character moments, and because we learned even more about the mighty Hetty, who is so perfectly portrayed by Oscar-winner Linda Hunt (if you want to see what an Oscar speech should look like, find hers, it was brilliant). She just lends so much to this show, with her instinctive acting, her dry-as-a-bone wit and the way she steals every single scene she is in with a presence that is three times her physical size. And I love that she ruled Nicaragua for 72 hours! LOL! I can just see her in dictator's garb, cranking out orders to the troops! As a Kensi and Deeks shipper, I was also thrilled to hear that they think about one another a lot, and I loved Kensi's title to Deeks memoirs! But folks, it is spelled Freaks, not FREEKs! Just sayin'
I loved this episode, especially the scenes between the two Abbys, hearing Abby Scuito tell Coast Guard Abby that she'd put together several blenders and other household appliances from the flotsam they'd picked up on the beach...hilarious, and so very Abby (Gotta love that gal!) I also enjoyed the scene where Ducky talked about his spy chops with Gibbs, that was just so adorable. And I was glad that Tony got a Gibbs-smack in this episode...though I thought all the Top Gun references were pretty funny. But I found the whole idea of these service men and women selling off an old helicopter for about a year's salary each to be something of a stretch, when they had to have known it was treason to their country to do such a thing! I loved the end scene with Gibbs going to give the helmet to that poor kid with Neurofibramatosis.
This season finale FREAKED ME OUT! I mean WTF? Everyone dies? What a lousy way to end the series, if it isn't renewed! We Alpha fans would be left with nothing but questions, which sucks.
The only good parts of the episode were Nina admitting to herself that she still loves Cameron and then kissing him to let him know she still has feelings for him, and when Kat was THROWN by Bill all the freakin' way across the room so she could kick serious arse! That was AWESOME, to show that size doesn't matter when it comes to a fight, it's the ferocity and skills of the fighter that count. Go KAT! And Rosen was just so pathetic that I hope that he doesn't make it, because I think he should have had the stones to kill Parish, who is trying to destroy the world, for heavens sake!
Wow, this episode nearly left me in a coma! Sheez! It was so action-packed, I am surprised the storyline survived the onslaught of revelations. But a couple of things confused me. Wasn't Nolan gay in previous episodes? Or has he claimed to be bisexual and I just missed it? (Either way, I think the man is hella sexy) Also, didn't Emily remember about her mom trying to drown her in a flashback before this?I seem to remember her having a bad dream about drowning awhile back. And though I loathe Fauxmanda, who defines cheap and sleazy, I nearly jumped out of my skin when Victoria threw her over the balcony! I swear, everyone Victoria touches ends up in some horrible situation...the woman is pure poison! Why is Jack so darned clueless, and why is Declan so niave that he continues to grind his family to ruin? Loved the ep, can't wait for another, though I do hope Nolan doesn't fall in love with his CFO
I hate to disagree with those who think Robert Carlysle is sexy, but I find that his playing a bad guy in every series who is always mean, grumpy and cruel makes me think he's either a lazy actor who enjoys being typecast or he just is a nasty person anyway and doesn't mind playing himself. He's also so darned tiny, he looks like an old dwarf from LOTR, and I can't find those guys at all sexy. Anyway, I do not blame Belle for wanting to be away from him, he lies constantly, and he never uses his magic as it is supposed to be used. I could see why his wife, though she was quite the witch with a b, wanted to leave him, because he was such a whiny, cringing, clingy little thing that I am sure she longed for someone more exciting. Still, leaving her child to think she was dead was pretty cruel, though I don't think she needed her heart ripped out and pulverized for it. But the best part of this ep for me was Belle's getting to run the town library! I was thrilled and envious at the same time! Lucky bibliophile!
Loved this episode, and I agree with the reviewer on all points...you are right, who wouldn't want Reese as a bodyguard?! I would certainly be thrilled to have handsome Jim Caveziel (I didn't spell that right, I know) just walk beside me for an hour, let alone have someone that lethal protecting me. And I was so sad when Finch had his panic attack...poor guy! Root should be hung up by her evil thumbs for what she did to our gentle machine-maker. And I am so glad that Finch has bonded with Bear! I think that having a dog will help him feel safer, and I hope that Reese teaches Bear to chew Roots legs off if she gets anywhere near Finch again! I loved the closing scene there, with them going off for a beer or wine together. Great,great acting, wonderful show that just gets better with age.

Last nights episode had it all, breakneck plot evolution, great emotional scenes and witty banter, plus all that power in play to set you on the edge of your recliner, and not let you go until the moment the show was over. I am not a fan of the character of Cyrus, but man, can that guy ACT! Whew! This show is amazing, well written and beautifully acted.
I agree that Oded Fehr is a marvelous guest star and a wonderful actor, and he was great in this episode, which was almost too dark and depressing for me. I realize that it is almost inevitable that a spy will get caught at some point and interrogated by the enemy, certainly, I just felt that the FSB interrogator would have used more force, in terms of torture, than sleep deprivation and a dirty cell and yelling at Annie. Yet I was glad that they didn't show more scenes of torture, because I loathe that sort of thing. Still, it didn't seem "normal" for the main guy to not hit her very much or cut her or waterboard her or any of that. It also seemed a bit too nice for Annie to provide him with a way to leave the country and start a new life. I understand it was in exchange for their freedom but she seemed to be way too forgiving of that guy. Still, I hope they do something with Annie and Auggies relationship in the next ep. I think there is real chemistry there.
I enjoyed this episode, and was thrilled to see more backstory on some of the characters. Snow White is just awesome, as is Emma, and I am even starting to like Charming again, though I have to say that I don't understand why he and Henry did not set free all the hearts that Regina had collected/stolen when they had the chance! Also, why not kill those horrible viper snakes while you can, so Regina can't use them to hurt someone? I mean, if you have access to the evil witch's lair, it doesn't make sense to not use it or destroy some of her power.Also, to the reviewer, those were not "toy" swords, those were bamboo/wooden katanas, which are practice swords used by those learning Japanese swordsmanship, or really any kind of swordsmanship. Charming said he would teach his grandson, the grandson of a prince, how to use a sword, and so he will.
Loved this ep, and yes, I loved that Danny wished he could have let the detective shoot the last two rapists in the head and the groin...they were disgusting, useless wastes of oxygen, and they should not be allowed to live after they destroyed a woman's life like that. Tom Sellick is always so effortlessly wonderful as Francis Reagan. I like him better now than I did as Magnum PI back in the day. the young guy who plays Jamie is, I agree, too fragile looking to be a Reagan...he looks like the runt of the litter. The other characters are so strong and interesting, and he's just not. I love Erin and her daughter and I was glad to see her set boundaries. I also adore Len Cariou as grandpa...he's just perfect.

I loved this episode, and I agree that there is no Moonlighting curse at all on Castle...Caskett are perfectly marvelous together and very real as a couple.

I found the show interesting enough to share watching it with my almost-13 year old son, who thought it was better than anything on TV except for NCIS and Perception.
I enjoyed the martial arts action, and I really enjoyed watching that young man work out with his abs rippling...seriously yummy bod, but he isn't too great at the brooding superhero acting stuff.
Still, I plan on giving it a few more episodes before I give up. I am sure my son will watch the whole season.
AWWWWWW! I just LOVE that the cast's moms played the poker table ladies! I knew there had to be something about them for them to comment like that about Kensi and Deeks. To be honest, I think Kensi and Deeks are a cute couple, too, and would love it if they'd hook up ala Castle's Beckett and Castle. I think Kensi feels safe and cared for with Deeks, and I think Deeks carries a torch for Kensi, and I think they could heal one another and would be good for one another. Plus, I'd be happy to get a glimpse of naked Deeks, who is just yummy. Not that LL Cool J is any slouch, of course. But the thing I loved most about this ep was how tender and gentle Kensi was with Astrid. I really loved the poker game with Hetty at the end...it made me misty. Such an awesome ep!
I love Monroe, so this episode was a load of fun for me to watch. And I, too, am sad that his lady-love is going to be away from him for awhile, as they are really cute together. Angelina was pretty funny pretending to be Nicks partner, and I love that Hank asked Monroe to change several times for him...that was hilarious! It is interesting that the first question he asked Monroe was the same question people always seem to ask Wolverine about his claws...does it hurt to change? Wolverine said "every time" and so did Monroe! I am really curious about what Reynard and the evil blond royal are up to, so I am looking forward to next week's episode.

Dear Reviewer ARE YOU KIDDING ME? No VAS when Violet was at her most ANNOYING these past two weeks? I am so disappointed! I felt that Violet was whiny,mean, annoying, immature and acted in a manner unworthy of a professional psychiatrist in this episode. She purposely went against what Sheldon told her to do by finding out if her patient really did kill someone, and then she did exactly what Sheldon said she'd do, she treated her patient horribly when she is hardly one to throw stones, as she is living in a glass house by being so unable to get past Pete's death. She is such a LOSER. I can't imagine why the other doctors care about her. She acts on her emotions, she doesn't behave like a mature professional and she seems to think that sleeping around somehow makes her sexy. It doesn't. She looks old, haggard and her hair is always a mess (why can't the makeup and hair people for the show do something with her unruly mop so it doesn't look like a crows nest?) Ugh. I usually find scenes with Violet hard to stomach, but in this episode I was ready to see her gone for good. She couldn't even deal with her sons questions about his dad...she has NO CLUE how to do anything right! My VAS for this ep was a 10
