@rationalgal i am basking in the intoxicating scent of eau de creative in these comments.:D great thinking. need time to digest.
here's a question. bertram and kirkland have something going that they'd like to share with lisbon. as it probably isn't "we want to do something awful to patrick, want in?" it has to be something they could reasonably expect she might be ok with and that their little meeting could ascertain whether she would. bertram's opening gambit was something like, i've always respected you as a professional (yeah, gail? even when you almost fired me?) he goes on to say that when it comes to lorelei martins, jane can't be trusted. lisbon says i'm not sure you're right. bertram was hoping she'd say, wow, you are so right. still hopeful, bertram then goes on to rattle her cage with the what were those two doing with the house all to themselves. lisbon clams up. what were they hoping they could let her in on?
watcher, i'm on a natural high.:D my training and teaching in creative writing put great emphasis on generating conceptual directions and then just churning out as many executions of those concepts in as short a time as possible the more nonsensical the better. often the best ideas come from throwing out ideas that make no sense. and letting them lead you to more logical solutions. then the ideas were savaged by people less likely to appreciate them than the average person sitting at his tv. then you have to go back and generate just as many ideas and again and again with no petulance. often going through this for a year or more.
Angela Jane is the end game for red john. he loves her. but angela is obsessed with killing the man who killed her husband and believes her strongest chance to get rj is by living in the guise of her poor husband patrick. that's why patrick hasn't tried to slip teresa the eel. patrick actually likes cho but can't declare her love for him until the rj case is resolved. patrick and teresa will be two sisters once rj is dead. teresa will marry mash burn and he will take all of them on wonderful vacations.
kirkland is an angel of death sent by red john to dispose of minions he no longer needs in as humane a way as possible. they don't die in pain and red john avoids paying out their pensions.
patrick jane is actually angela jane. patrick was killed when he came home to find his daughter dead. angela was doing wash in the basement. jane was killed with charlotte. angela made sure the bodies were always in her site and at some time substituted a female corpse for what have been her own and dressed and movie through the world as her dead husband patrick. this is why it's been easy for patrick to live like a monk. lorelei found out but she swings both ways and red john thought it was a hoot. red john is hot hot hot for angela jane aka patrick and
@katempw yes. he lies.
interview w/bruno re: last year's finale interesting to re-read in light of what we know now.
Patrick Jane is fired from his job at CBI after a meltdown at the office. Then in the season ender set several months later, we find him living in Las Vegas, where he's working as a fake psychic. " Jane has finally had enough of chasing after Red John," says exec producer Bruno Heller. "He decides to pack it in and that sends him on a severe downward spiral, much to the dismay of his former team at CBI. The finale boasts yet another game-changing encounter with Red John plus a potential love interest for Jane, played by Emmanuelle Chriqui. "She's a breath of fresh air and might be Jane's saving grace," says Heller. "She doesn't judge him and that's exactly what he needs. He's in such a vulnerable place.?Chriqui, meanwhile, is set to return next season. Do we see long-term romance in Jane's future? "Yep," says Bruno Heller. "He really falls for her."
@katempw when they starve us like this, we must seek entertainment elsewhere. i hear that madmen is starting up again this weekend. i remember seeing the british life on mars several years ago. thought it was great.
@katempw mark pellegrino played von mcbride, the motorcycle gang leader in red menace -- i think season two. did you see photos of him in the season 5 finale?
@estatica i had the same experience with my first dog. he transformed my household but also raised my empathy level for all others, animal and human. they are amazing. so pure. they don't love the way we do but they have a need for us and it's so satisfying to satisfy a creature who can be satisfied. so many others that we deal with cannot. there's no ambivalence, no subtext. we are emotionally free with them.
