Like many other fans, I didn't like the finale. Full circle is one thing, making an entire series mute is another. Why did Ted and Robin go through all that just to end up in literally the same place they were in season 1? It makes all that growth pointless. Also, when they revealed the mother, they managed to create a sweet, quirky character and we all loved her. Considering all the hype and expectation around this one character, I think they did a great job. Then they kill her off. But not only did they kill her off, no one seemed to care all that much. Yes, it's apparently been six years but we didn't see that. I have a parent who died 11 years ago, I'm supportive of my mom dating but when she talks about him, I still get a little sad. Those kids jumped straight to Robin, without even a single thought about their dead mother. Also, we never saw Ted mourn. So it looks like he went from marrying Tracey and having this amazing life with her...to Robin again. That's part of the problem with all of those flashbacks, we get that there's supposed to be time passing but because we were getting so many of them, it didn't really feel like it. Barney and Robin divorcing. Why did you put them back together in the first place then? You spent a season getting them to the alter. The only storyline I liked was Barney becoming a father. That was sweet. The rest of the finale was a mashed together mess.
Just as I was beginning to like Tank! I wish Bay hadn't cheated on him with Emmett, it cheapens their re-union, especially after what she's been through. Weren't we supposed to get a stronger, wiser Bay out of all this? It's one thing for them to confess their mutual feelings but it's another to hurt someone else in the process. As for Daphne, I've been having trouble backing her as a character. I don't really like Campbell, he's just so smug sometimes! But at the same time, Jorge is a bit old to be hitting on a high school girl. Meanwhile Daphne is basking in the attention, it's kind of annoying. I think Daphne should be single for once, her boy drama just makes me want to smack her. John is still an ass, I don't think Kathryn would have accused Renzo if it wasn't for John weighing in. Instead she would have called her publisher right away. I know people don't change over night but John has had so many opportunities and Renzo even helped him save his marriage...AFTER JOHN BASICALLY KICKED HIM OUT OF HIS HOUSE! Ugh. As for Regina, I feel really bad for her. She wants to be successful and keep her integrity in tack...Good luck with that. Yet, I think Adrianna was being a bit harsh. But this is why you don't mix personal with business, if Regina hadn't brought in East Riverside this would never have been a problem. Sure, her boss still would have been an asshole but he would have been far away from her friends. As for Toby...Why isn't he in college? His marriage fell apart but Nikki wasn't living with him so he could have at least have completed a semester in the six months she was gone and then after she extended her stay, he could have finished off his freshman year. I get his decision to take a trip after a crappy heartbreak but what's stopping him from re-applying to Wash-U? He would make a great teacher.
I'm with Carissa on this one. Diane's got more balls than the NBA. She'll get it done. As for the Florrick divorce, one can dream. And I don't mind surprises, if Peter and Eli didn't rig the election then I can't wait to see who did. Maybe it was Matthew Perry's character. I'll stay tuned.
I'm going to miss Will. I was always hoping that he'd get the girl in the end, even when it was clear it wasn't going to happen. One thing I hope comes out of this is a step towards the Florrick divorce. I wouldn't put it past Peter to have rigged that election and let Eli take the fall. Eli reeks of scapegoat this season. Peter was always an asshole and I don't believe he's changed. I understand Alicia's actions in regards to staying with him but things are different now. Her kids are older and her career is not tied to Peter's success, it's helped but she's now a formidable lawyer on her own. I can't wait for Diane to kick some ass. She's always been one of the my favorite characters and she's been off her game this season. No more, welcome back Ms. Lockhart.
I don't think that was the bailiff, I think that was the guard from the prison. Either way, it's tv and for story purposes it couldn't have been someone random. Will had to be killed by his own "addition" as he called it and his death was a lot more meaningful because it was his own client who pulled the trigger.
And Marnie is a mess. I`m glad that her and Charlie didn`t stay together. I know that`s because the actor playing Charlie left the show in a huff but it`s far more interesting to see Marnie struggle then to be handed everything she`s ever wanted. Last episode, Rita Wilson was fantastic as her mother. I loved how she exited laughing when Marnie said she had ``fixed``everything.
I don`t think Shoshanna is turning into a bad person...She loves Ray and supported him, literally. Ray was stuck in a rut and it took Shoshanna breaking his heart to get him out of it. Also, Shoshanna is 21. She was a virgin before Ray and she needs to learn that meaninglessness hook ups are fun for a while but don`t really satisfy long term. She wasn`t ready to settle down yet. I don`t think it makes her a bad person. It`s better that she came clean with Ray, rather than cheating on him again. Now, saying all that, I love those two. They`re quirky and adorable. I hope to see more of them.
I loved this episode. I love that we get to see Hannah trying to deal with a crisis that doesn`t revolve around her. She sees Adam as a caregiver and wants to return the favor by healing the breach with his sister but finally realizes that this one is a little beyond her. I didn`t think I`d love Hannah and Adam as a full time couple but after seeing the two of them with Hannah`s parents, I was sold. Then they throw in Caroline. Wow. For those of us who thought Jessa was unpredictable, we didn`t know the meaning of the word. Gaby Hoffman did a fantastic job of balancing Caroline`s helpless despair and her complete lack of impulse control.
Tank is adorable. Most adorable frat boy ever.
Regina is awesome, I`m glad her mother and daughter were there to remind her of that. I do hope that it works out with her and Angelo but after all the secrets he`s kept from her over the years, it`s hard to see that happening.
